I just cant see him going to Everton if he want European football. I think it's far more likely that he'll go to Chelsea when the embargo is lifted. A cash plus swap deal would probably be best. Then we will have to give less to Man U[/quote] The MU implications of a reduced cash offer + 2 players are highly amusing - especially as we really need another striker & whilst Tosun may not have settled well at Everton, don't forget we were seriously interested at the time. Very good point and we have also been linked with McCarthy since Jesus was a boy.

If Parrish is the businessman he claims to be he would only let his best employee leave if he could get someone in to replace him and at this stage that isn’t going to happen. If he sells him then the company can repay the directors loans back but ultimately the company will suffer in the short term. None of us know what is really going on but it does all point to the need to get hold of £100m asap to pay them off and then start again whilst in the meantime shopping in the bargain basement to try and keep us up.

Morning gents, Toffee in peace here. As it looks increasingly likely that Zaha will be coming to Merseyside on a cash plus player deal, who from our current squad (who are up for grabs) do you think will benefit your team? Edited by Moise_Toffee (06 Aug 2019 9.35am) It is fair to say that if you get Wilf you are getting one hell of a player but we fans don't want Everton cast offs who can't get in their Team as part of the deal.

I will not be there on Saturday if this scenario unfolds. My dear wife is fully aware of my feelings and intentions. It will be the straw that breaks the camel's back for a supporter who has followed the club through thick and thin for over 50 years.

Edited by Moise_Toffee (06 Aug 2019 9.35am) Our board loves buying absolute donkeys so we'll take Tosun, Niasse, plus McCarthy because we like to keep our treatment room full. And don't worry, we'll take good care of them with bumper contracts.

Sell our best player and one who has been the major factor in keeping us in the PL and bring in 2 cast-offs from Everton who have hardly set the world on fire and they cannot wait to get rid of seems totally and utterly ridiculous. One can point to the transfer fee but 25% goes to Man Utd and there is hardly any time to bring in any replacement. I will seriously consider throwing my season ticket into the English Channel if this scenario unfolds and I have been a supporter through all the trials and tribulations since the 60s.The club will be made aware of my feeling in no uncertain terms. I am realistic enough to accept that Zaha would be sold to a bigger club at some juncture but not late in the window in exchange for 2 cast-offs.Nothing definite as yet but the thought of it fills me with dread and hyperventilation.Enough is enough Steve.
Edited by Willo (06 Aug 2019 9.51am) I bet they're sh*tting themselves about that Willo ...

Edited by Willo (06 Aug 2019 9.44am) I'm now more fearful of keeping Zaha for the good of Palace from a risk analysis viewpoint. If we keep Zaha, I worry that every other team will have noted the Watford "blueprint" of how to kick the cr*p out of & nullify him. More teams will try, & whilst he's at Palace he's our sole main focal point, so he'll be even more targeted than in a better team - & sooner or later he could get badly injured as a result. In which case we have no Zaha, no money, no Tosun - & THAT really would be disastrous. I also wonder if last season has impacted mentally the same sort of thoughts in Wilf's mind.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Everton are a big step up from Palace, they really do have a chance of European football and seem to be the only club with willing to pay for him. If true that they are almost doubling his wages, it isn't greed but common sense that would make him want to go there. Not that we know if there is any truth in the romour anyway.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

I certainly don't expect them to care two hoots. They don't give a fig about their loyal supporters who have to put up with shoddy facilities and an appalling matchday experience in terms of catering, refreshments etc etc. Edited by Willo (06 Aug 2019 10.10am)

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Why is there an f-ing love in for Everton on here? Those of you praising Everton are neither Palace fans nor football fans as far as I’m concerned. Everton are a better team then Palace, but not even in the top six in this country. I will be absolutely shocked if they achieve anything this year and there is no evidence to prove otherwise. A few trying to praise their team on paper need their heads checked, Richarlison is s***, Kean is untested and Zaha has only ever performed at Palace. Even then that is nowhere near a front three of Aubameyang, Lacazette and Pepe for Arsenal, probably the worst of the top six teams. Their defence is awful and midfield mediocre. Zaha may as well play in the PL for Palace and achieve nothing. If he wants to play in Europe or win trophies by all means I’ll be pleased for him but a move to Everton will be extremely insulting to those of us who have supported him for so long. Don’t even try to make excuses that this is for footballing reasons you’re embarrassing yourselves
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
