What are you on about.
It his decision- he can't be sold against his wishes.
He can say,
'I have 2 years remaining on my contract and have no desire to leave.'
If he's as happy as he claims to be and believes that everything at Palace is as good as he claims, then why not seek to discuss an extension?
He's not a chattel that can moved by the club on a whim.
Perhaps you should brush up on your knowledge of the laws of employment and contract.

What would you expect him to say? The decision is not his alone. If Newcastle (or another club) came in and said look, lets stop dicking around. We'll give you £70m plus £10m in add ons. If that were to happen Parish will be packing Guehi's bag whether Guehi wants to go or not. Yes he could reject a move to the buying club but that would harm his chances of a big move in the future as it could be perceived as a lack of self belief.

Its a short career. He understandably want to go as far as he can and win things. I cant blame him for that. What I do admire is he is not aggitating for a move and is behaving like a true pro. letting the businessmen deal with it while he focuses on winning for Palace until told otherwise

Hmmm, Someone above mentioned Zaha leaving which has far less to do with Guehi than Richards does (who in case you didn't realise IS relevant because he has been covering Guehi's position while he was injured).
Funny how you dont seem to be calling them out. Condescension may not 'become me', double standards and a weak attempt to try and put someone in their place is not really yopur thing either pal.

It was you who took offence because I questioned you, so my replies have been focused on that. Your attempt to bring other posters in to this is shallow. Go away & have a nice night.

Well, well, well - a sensible post from a Geordie fan site. What a contrast to the one we termed 'sour grapes'.

That site is from the same franchise stable as 'we are palace'based in Widnes. Wouldn't trust it as far as.

Marc Guehi is better than Newcastle. I think it would be a waste for him to go there as his big move. He deserves a really top club, I’m amazed Utd, Liverpool and even city are not coming in for him.

After watching his interview I’m even more impressed with him. Of course he would love a big move for generational wealth. However if does stay, I don’t for 1 minute think he would anything less than 100% for us.

I really don’t want to see any more of our squad leave. It’s going to be hard enough to fill the void Olise left and we want to build on what we achieved under OG last season.

Closer to our valuation? Are they Tottenham in disguise? Their previous offers must've been well off the pace.

Depends what the add ons are. If he needs to win the Ballon d'Or to trigger it then it's probably still a no.

Another astonishing article here from Newcastle:

[Link]

"Palace and their fans are obviously loving the fact that they have turned down these three bids, not folding to Newcastle United etc etc. With their co-owner Steve Parish absolutely embarrassing himself, grandstanding in the media, bragging how Palace would be more than happy to see the transfer window close with Marc Guehi still at the club.

If you believe that you will believe anything!

Marc Guehi has repeatedly refused to sign a new contract, he is clearly intent on leaving, though he is dealing with it all very professionally, unlike Steve Parish.

I think we can all now take it for granted that Guehi wants to sign for Newcastle, as there is no way that we would have got to three bids (and counting) having been made, over the space of a week and a half or so.

The truth is that Palace HAVE to sell Marc Guehi in this transfer window, as otherwise they have a player whose value significantly decreases as his contract counts down. They would find themselves in the January 2025 window with just a year and half left on the defender’s contract, I doubt very much anybody would be offering £50m/£55m, never mind £70m. Marc Guehi might even decide to wait another 18 months, leave on a free and get paid a fortune in wages, whilst Palace get nothing.

One other thing that has become clear, unless anything changes, is that Newcastle United are the only show in town. With Crystal Palace dragging this out a couple of weeks, plenty opportunity for other clubs to have come in for the England international. The fact that no club appears to have done so, in my opinion points to the fact that no club is going to pay £70m for Marc Guehi, that his true value is around about what NUFC have offered, maybe even less than the £55m Newcastle have now bid this past week.

If in two weeks time the transfer window closes and Marc Guehi remains at his current club, I very much see it that Crystal Palace will have been the biggest losers in all of this, not Newcastle United."

I remember once upon a time Newcastle were quite a likeable club. How quickly that's changed. The sheer sense of arrogance from a fanbase who haven't won a pot for 70 years is remarkable.

Howe has given Palace a 'brutal' warning by threatening to 'walk away'. Erm, bye . . . [Link]
