Yup often forgotten in all the Tory bashing but both SNP Scotland and Labour Wales NHS' are just as bad as Tory England if not worse.

Bevan took on the vest interests when the NHS was formed. Those vested interests today claim they are the guardians of the NHS.

Sadly I see no Bevan on the horizon to make radical changes.

We do not need to privatise the NHS but radical change is required which will require the banging of heads. The Tories have had 14 years of doing nothing but throw money at the NHS (despite what labour say).

Labour's plans are pretty feeble we can only hope that once in power they grow a pair.

This exact point was put to the Shadow Health Minister the other day. His reply was basically that the poor performance of Labour and the SNP in this regard was as a result of the Westminster government's policies.

Let's see how many times we can tax the same gross pound that you earn.

Salary tax
NI
VAT
Tax on interest and dividends
Capital gains tax
Inheritance tax

Likely many others

What's your point? That taxes exist?

The point is that people are over taxed and the original pound you earn is chipped away multiple times.

If your gross/ net salary loses say 30% then each pound post tax becomes 70p. Anything you spend on goods and services attracts 20% VAT so actual spend power is 56p after applying 20% VAT

If you save your 70% net salary the interest is taxed at 20/40%

I am 100% of the opinion that in the UK we are taxed beyond anything that can even remotely be called fair / acceptable -

Salary tax & NI = OK

VAT = A piss take.

Tax on interest and dividends & Capital gains tax & Inheritance tax are nothing short of Government sponsored daylight robbery -

Insurance Premium Tax, Prescription Charges, Road Taxes, the list goes on - there is even a tax on sand, gravel and rock dug from the ground or dredged from the sea. Of course governments spend it so wisely and so many layers of government to spend it, so many Quangos and legions of Diversity Staff and Quality Assurance people, etc, etc, etc.

All you can do is vote for parties that are probably going to do less governing.

That is a good point, better run Govt would mean less tax needed

You missed out all the money they give away so freely to all and sundry - Aid, foreign wars, bribes for trade deals, compensation for stupidity in the first place etc., etc., etc.,

A huge amount is paid out for compensation by various government agencies.

When you stop and think for a minute the waste is mind boggling, then there's the future pension provisions.

There is a school of thought that the state pension will have run out of money by 2040

Yes, indeed. It would be a giant task in trying to document all the ways governments in all their guises fleece us and then squander the money.

What is the Left's solution? To give them more money and means of squandering it!
