When they are, it is. When.they aren’t, it isn’t. Transgender women, behaving discretely in private cubicles aren’t. Still stating feelings as facts.

I Where has that been said, or are you making assumptions? They have said they are prepared to look at a new application on its merits. No blanket ban at all. Could it possibly be that they were advised by the police that there was a risk to public safety? No assumptions, “ in June the council had decided to cancel, due the speakers views on transgender rights ” it’s in the article.

As is quite usual if you read why the lady won her case you will understand that it had nothing at all to do with whether the council was right, or wrong, to cancel the event. It was only “procedurally unlawful”. In other words there was a processing error. Big deal! Don’t let that stop anyone drawing all sorts of other conclusions though. This wasn’t a victory for anyone! It was a piece of luck. Like a motorist avoiding a speeding fine because the police failed to calibrate their cameras on time. Still spinning for the establishment. The point was she was stopped from speaking whether she won on a technicality is actually besides the point.
One more point |

It’s the whole point. She wouldn’t have had a case without it. That you, or anyone else, thinks she ought to have a case is irrelevant.

But were they stating an official objection to those views or concerned that their controversial nature could create a difficult situation? I don’t think that’s clear at all. Many such cancellations are done on police advice but that doesn’t stop the screams from the right about their “free speech” being eroded. The police have a duty to ensure public safety and take a politically neutral stance on such things. I am quite sure “pro-transgender” events get cancelled too, but without the publicity.

Really!, Ffs I give up. Your post intimated that the article did not state it had been cancelled due to her views on transgender, you were totally wrong, as it was quite clearly there. But, as is your want, you have tried to twist it to suit your agenda. If it had been cancelled on Police advice, that would have been commented on by them. I am beginning to think you are just trolling. Edited by Spiderman (08 Oct 2022 7.53pm) Edited by Spiderman (08 Oct 2022 7.53pm) Edited by Spiderman (08 Oct 2022 7.56pm)

So if it was cancelled on police advice; we can obviously expect the plod to put in an appeal against the court ruling ? If not then why not ? I haven’t read or heard this is happening !
