BBC running the same story in their gossip column today - West Ham have made an offer of £17m plus add-ons for Brentford's Algeria forward Said Benrahma, 25. (90 Min)

I said a week ago he will sign for West Ham, think he'll be a great signing, Benhrama and Bowen, really good players, there owners get a lot of stick from there fans, but they do spend money. Parish gets an easy ride in comparison.

Why did we "let" this happen? I don't know how to tell you this but they are far better resourced than us. For instance, while we have to make do in our dilapidated Nissan huts, west ham were GIVEN the Olympic stadium! It is not an even playing field. SP gets a relatively easy ride maybe because people know this and marvel at the fact that we are 8 years a premiership team despite having to operate at such an economic disadvantage compared to most of our peers.

We may lose out on players having done the due diligence but it tends to be because we don't offer anywhere near the asking price and whilst we are fannying about trying to barter another club will step in and pay what the player is worth. If the media reports are true Watford have said that they won't sell Sarr for anything less than £40m so we are allegedly about to offer £30m West Ham may have been gifted a stadium but our dilapidated row of Nissan huts as you put it don't stand us a great deal in the accounts and the main reason why West Ham have more money than us is because their directors have put more in

And we bargain in order to get the few players available who can improve the squad. Sadly they also improve our competitors who are better resourced. Like I said we start disadvantaged. Out of the 20 clubs I think only Burnley are comparable?

I personally don’t think we will end up with either Benrahma or Sarr but we will see Osayi-Samuel..!! At a reported £5M could turn out to be the most prudent buy of the 3..!! Time will tell. COYP
