Let's get down to the nitty-gritty of sports commentating censorship of 'slavery terms': He whipped in that cross superbly

Suddenly, we have realised that we might have aligned ourselves with a divisive Marxist, anti capitalist, anti police, Black Panther lite organisation. You can make any statement you like but how many people who's 'lives matter' believe and support the BLM bulls***?

The entomology of Nitty Gritty was discussed on LBC a few years ago after a Conservative politician used it. The actual origin of the word is not definitive but it means get down to the facts. The OED dates it backs to the 1950's whereas those who claim it relates to slavery say it is hundreds of years old but cannot back that claim up. On the LBC program it was claimed also to be an anglicized version of an old German expression but the OED does not mention that. Anyway other example of feelings being more important than facts and protected groups claiming ownership of words, so much for inclusivity. Edited by Badger11 (02 Jul 2020 10.57am)

Hahahahafrigginha I think they have missed the point that they are sponsoring the BLM organisation by putting the banners up regardless of whether they want to dip in or dip out of what it actually stands for.

I really am on the verge of just packing football in altogether now. It's a sport, not Parliament, not a church, and definitely not a school. Get on with the business of entertaining or I am closing my windows.

Good to see Palace backtracking on this also [Link] But the ignorant Palace directors should be culpable too for this. So desperate to VIRTUE SIGNAL with the PL than do some due diligence on BLM. Completely out of touch with the fans. As we speak, the backtracking stories are being buried by the mainstream media who pushed this narrative from day one. It ticked all the right boxes: sensationalism, journalists' moral superiority, attacks on Trump and a bit of Marxism. Edited by Penge Eagle (02 Jul 2020 12.53pm)

They are treating the public like simpletons. For me that message from 'Chris Sutton' really took the biscuit. I'll highlight some of what he said in bold. 'There is a difference between Black Lives Matter the message and Black Lives Matter the organisation.' Errr...Chris, that message was started by that organisation. All lives matter, but the distinction that black lives require a special focus is a political one. One is about fighting for equality. The other's UK wing has courted controversy by calling for police funding to be cut and an end to free trade with Israel. ? Equality does not advance one group above others. I'm not one for delving too deeply into politics but for me, that is not what Black Lives Matter has ever been about. This movement has always been about the powerful over-riding message it conveys - that the lives of black people matter as much as anyone's.' I'm not one for delving too deeply into politics....now let me tell you or lie to you about the organisation. An organisation that has never hidden its marxist and anti capitalist aims. It's association with the black power movement isn't hidden either and we see plenty of black players using that political sign as they kneel. That has bugger all to do with equality and we see many attempts to whitewash these organization and so justify their own stupid behaviours. This display of virtue signalling has a massive pick and choose element to it and if the blm account had kept quiet these morons would still be pushing lies onto the public.
