I understand, one of my best mates is a Boer and we have great banter over such things. Usually we argue about rugby though. I find he is quick to get angry but it doesn't really bother me. I can be very argumentative myself - as my missus continuously points out. It's kind of ironic how Britain treated the Boers but then essentially left them in charge. There are so many contradictions in this history. For instance, the South African division in WW2 North Africa. There is a kind of love/hate thing between Britain and many former parts of the Empire.

The silence from the left though tells you a lot. They actually believe their activists when they say, 'nothing to see here'. What is going to happen is so clearly sign posted but people only see what they want to see.......Something that seems quite the problem on the left as we see with both Brexit and Trump.

Hmmmm, maybe you should surf some of the many Afrikaaner resistance groups on the net. They are not going anywhere and it's understandable when you consider the true Afrikaaner knows nowhere other than Africa. They consider themselves African. No debate.

But they clearly aren't, they are Europeans who are mainly descended from Dutch immigrants. If they were truly Africans and considered themselves as such they would have mated with them hundreds of years ago and assimilated into the population. The situation is a tragic one.....I agree with you that many of them know nothing else. But I like to think I know human nature and in my estimation.....they have twenty years tops....with the possibility that sh1t goes down way before that. They are well armed but ammo is finite.

Stirlingsays have you ever even been to any African countries I don't think you have if you had you would understand a lot of what you are saying makes 0 sense. I lived in South Africa and Botswana for around 10 years. Why does a country need to be run by some one born their it doesn't and that can harm the country. A lot of what you are stating is rambling heres one example why called Africa if not run by Africans that is just dumb why are we called England when we have had non English born people in charge then it's only a name. next what has my wife got to do with black white orange etc and best person for the job nothing again you are just chatting s**t. You remind me of the sort of people that work on building sites reading the sun newspaper like its the bible. Why do you keep bringing Black up as well Africa is not all Black you are stereotyping and again showing you don't have a clue about all the African nations that right Africa is not just one country.

So I take it from this that your opinion as to whether personal experience is required before commentary is given is rather irrelevant. Originally posted by grumpymort
Why does a country need to be run by some one born their it doesn't and that can harm the country. If someone has an allegiance to a country they are more likely to have its best interests. For example, that’s why America and other countries have this rule. Also, the people of a country have a right to be ruled over by those they feel represent their culture and heritage. Can you think of a person who was democratically elected to lead a country who was another country’s national? I can’t. Originally posted by grumpymort

I’m stereotyping by referring to black people in Africa? Then you’re going to suggest I was referring to Africa as a country when I had already referred to its diversity? Oh dear, where's the circus music?

Without the concentration camps even more of the Boers would have died.....you can tell them that because that's factual.....because that's what happened after the British stopped them. The concentration camps were not designed to murder Boers or their families. Unfortunately, many deaths did occur due to poor facilities and corruption. This was done on purpose. It was no accident.

he should have just come clean about it and admitted that it was a serious misjudgment. To plead ignorance of the nazi salute is rather convenient when it is easy to hide behind the dumb footballer card. This incident is embarrassing for him and embarrassing for the club. If we are talking about justifying the actual war itself. It had little going for it. Edited by Stirlingsays (20 Apr 2019 11.08am)
