No that reply was to your bit about me sounding a tad racist... I just replied something similar regarding this to Sterling, and attached the info. I will also attach a report from FBI homicide report here. You can see from this the overall group of people killed by police in the US is White people, you would expect this given the country is 72% white. Disproportionately though Black people are killed at a higher rate by police officers. There could be a whole series of factors for this which I am sure many people on here will have their viewpoints on, that is fair enough. I am just starting the facts. If you are interested I can also show you data from 2015 that shows this per million when unarmed. No that’s fair and thank you. I have seen different perspectives however though including that factor in the percentage of crimes committed by black Americans etc which actually suggests they are therefore killed less frequently etc etc and so on and so forth. There’s also this fella (black fella) on twitter doing the rounds apparently myth busting through statistics which is generally interesting but there are so many possible questions. As for the tad racist thing, yeah guilty was a wind up but meant to be a thought provoking comment too!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

But you seek to divide, over and over again. This entire notion of 'white privilege' comes with zero class distinction either implied or promoted. Along with constant attacks of traditional family structures by way of championing Gay rights and so on. I would argue that the Left effectively gave up on traditional notions of the 'class struggle' in favour of an equality ideal that actually does nothing to achieve that goal in a meaningful way. Instead we see what is happening today. A left that are raising funds to bail out rioters. That needs to sink in. The Left are cheering on violence against Police and Property. And for what purpose? Seriously? What do you think any of this will achieve? What are the goals?
If your worried about traditional family structures you are going to be horrified when you hear about the man in no. 10. To the bit in bold, this may be true of the centre left neoliberals, but I would say that is exactly the same of the centre right neoliberals too. The left (the actual left), still has a strong footing in workplace rights, tax justice, housing rights, funding for public services, which are important working class issues that apply to all the working classes regardless of any cultural identity. To be clear I don't support the rioting or looting which is going on in the U.S. right now but to pretend that every single person who has been arrested over the last week in the U.S. was someone rioting or looting is just not true. I've seen multiple videos of groups of peaceful protesters sat down or kneeling only to be tear gassed and arrested while on the floor. I would also add there were certain posters on here who were celebrating the yellow vests who were rioting and burning things in the same way last year, that was approached with a view that it was an inevitable reaction to globalisation. Additionally much of the world celebrated the violent protests in Hong Kong (myself included) for a fight against the influence of a totalitarian state. I understand one of the aims is for all four of the police officers involved in the George Floyd case to have charges against them, I appreciate the policeman who was kneeling on his neck has been charged, I believe one of the stated aims is for the officers who refused to intervene to also be charged. In all fairness it took three days of rioting initially for the police department to even bring charges against the first police officer, given precedent historically these things only seem to happen after huge public outcry. In terms of historically achieving things from these kinds of protests, there was a housing bill added to the Civil Rights act in the wake of the riots after MLKs assassination. Ultimately I think though in this case, all this really helps is Trumps chances of re-election, he can play to the conservative base (who were starting to lose faith over his Covid response) and bring them back with a message of an insurgent radical left.

But the Left are the primary drivers behind these divides. Actively seek to promote them. Cheer on mass-migration which impacts on the wages of the very poorest in our society whilst being funded and encouraged to so so by the very people you claim to have nothing in common with. Essentially act as the cheerleaders for globalisation and happy to be bought off by Coca-Cola sponsoring 'Pride' marches and Disney having trans-cartoon characters. Out of interest can you even bring yourself to mouth the words 'British Jobs for British workers' anymore? Or is that concept completely alien to you? If your worried about wage stagnation and driving down of wages then the first vote for people who want to improve the minimum wage. Since 2010 there have been 7 prosecutions for firms paying below minimum wage despite there being over 5000 firms caught by HMRC for paying below the lawful amount, what are the Tories doing about that? If you want British workers to get a fair wage surely here would be a good place to start? Again your reading things about me which I haven't ever expressed a view on, I find it distasteful that massive corporations like to 'woke-wash' on many subjects these days, to see massive corporations act like that have solidarity with people while still having business practices that fly in the face of many of these campaigns gets on my nerves. Of course jobs for British people matter, which is why it upsets me now following the passing of the bill the other week, low paid/low skilled jobs will be solely filled by British workers, where as the higher paying ones will be able to be filled by foreign nationals, shouldn't we strive for British people to be able to fill these roles?

The very first post from W12, a stark "Have to say watching these riots fills me with hope" [Link] Multiple fatalities, 1000 police injured. Such hope. I wonder what response saying something as nuts as that on here now would receive? Not all attacks on law enforcement are created equal apparently.

That is a valid point. More than willing to concede that I to also cheered, and will continue you to do so, the Yellow Jackets but what does that make us all? Ultimately hypocrites? And perhaps shows how divided we all ultimately are? Perhaps now beyond the point of no return? This is the point. Perhaps there truly has to be some kind of more formal separation between those who wish to live in a Progressive society and those who do not. And whilst there was some looting and destruction of property on those Yellow Jacket protests, I cannot recollect the wide scale and night after night destruction we are witnessing in the US at the moment. With the YJ's maintaining their momentum for well over a year. The yellow jackets were driven by an anger because many were struggling to be able to afford to drive their kids to school. In the US they are rioting because a cop has been charged with murder. Here in the UK, we have a political system that sort to cover up the systematic sexual and emotional abuse of teenage (and younger in some cases) white girls, many from the most vulnerable backgrounds. With many on the left, who are surprisingly vocal about events over 5,000 miles away, at best grudging in their acknowledgement of what happened and the cover-ups around that. Worse than cover ups in some cases. Actual collusion. Still they were only white trash? What did they matter? Did the wider white population riot because of that? Did we loot shopping centres up and down the country? No. Even when it is being exposed week after week, month after month. But somehow we are the 'privileged' ones meant to bow down and ask for forgiveness? Until the last few days I genuninely thought that perhaps we could all muddle along together. That ultimately we all had the power at the ballot box to change that. Not a perfect system but ultimately the one that probably gets more right than it does wrong. But seeing these campaigns to raise funds to bail out rioters. To free people who have attacked shops and homes and who have left people in coma's for the crime of trying to defend themselves? No. Lines crossed. I have seen nobody defending what that cop did. And he will be tried and probably spend the rest of his life inside jail. Yet that is not enough for many on the Left. They want to place collective blame on hundreds of millions of others because they share the same skin colour. Out of interest if this had been a black cop would you lefties have been so outraged? So keen to defend the mayhem? Or is skin colour the primary concern for you?
