I'm hearing big Sam is involved in the West Ham
tax scandal.
Also that Mancini is our new manager.

Might be rubbish, but would explain a few things!

Alternatively Porto have tweeted that they haven't been meeting Silva.

Take your pick...

weve had a right f***ing touch here with the crooked one retiring...we didnt even need to pay the c*** off for leaving!

was never the long term option and weve got a chance to get a proper manager in to hopefully build on the slavage job the outgoing manager started to waste money on.

the futures bright, the futures un-crooked

It was something to do with the Manchester events, it was discussed on Alan Brazil's show, they all seemed to have heard he personally knew someone involved and decided he didn't want to be away from his family for long periods anymore.
To me, he has done the decent thing and given Palace every opportunity to find a replacement before pre season starts.

Yeah I heard that to,Brazil said he had a friend who died in the bombing.
If I was 62 (not quite there),and comfortable off after seeing that I would retire and spend the time with my family.
I wish the man no ill whatsoever, and without him we would be going to Burton albion next year.

This extract from his autobiography indicates that Sam (prompted by his family) had been looking forward to a new, less stressful chapter in his life even before he went to Sunderland.

If we get mired into a relegation next Christmas, who's to say he won't be invited back to save us again, perhaps on a five-month contract?

Spot on, thinking the same. Gone amicably on much better terms than Pulis and may well return when called on quickly like Warnock.

Am I the only person who thinks it a little odd that the club hasn't released any statement about this. Not even a 'thanks Sam, we wish you all the best'?

well then on behalf of those of us grateful that somebody cleaned up the Pardew mess, and kept Arsenal out of the champions league in the process...

Thank You Big Sam, enjoy the retirement, you deserve it.
