Like it or not, van Aanholt played and worked well under Sam last year and was part of a team that was apparently dead and buried at this stage last season. Nobody at Palace is currently playing consistently well. Whether that's due to fitness, confidence or basic ability is open to debate. The inescapable fact is that we need new faces to dig us out of the hole that is if our own making. If van Aanholt makes a positive contribution and we stay up, the money will have been well spent.

You needn't worry I doubt it will go through, I heard he has heart issues. As no announcement made after the medical, I expect we may pull out or renegotiate the fee.

Once upon a time we didn't really know much about players that didn't play for us and so any new player was of interest, just to see if they were any good. We've obviously moved on but I kind of look at this one as a bit of a throw back. I've heard different opinions and whatever happens it'll be interesting. A bit like this season. Love you Palace.

Proper excited about this signing. Finally got some balance in the team and just look at the strength in depth on the bench now with these two signings coming in. With the way the team is currently set up the below looks pretty well balanced to me!

Add another signing which i believe we will, so i dont have to see Kellys name on the bench and you know what lads.....with the right performances we will be alright. I reckon alot of teams will look at us and acknoldge what were doing at the min.......that above team is pretty decent you know.

Thing that worries me is with all the water that's gone under the bridge what with the transfer request and all the comments from Sam about him and what not just hope it doesn't go pear shaped for him coz if it does his career will have a large black mark against it
