Personally I think our problems lie with central midfield as much as defence. When we were doing well at the start of last season cabaye and macarthur had a great partnership as a defensive pair, Cabaye in particular seemed to make loads of interceptions and won many tackles. MacArthur too played pretty deep, winning the ball and playing forward quickly to the wingers. Puncheon linked it all together. This season for whatever reason cabaye doesn't seem to be winning/intercepting as much, macarthur seems to play much further forward and puncheon doesn't seem to know wether to attack or defend. All this leaves our very shaky defence even more vulnerable.

I never see other teams giving the ball away as much as we do. Surely ball retention is practiced in training!? Last few games I've watched us play I just end up shouting at the tv because we keep giving the ball away.

Depends how many other teams you watch. It happens a lot.

Its more simple, we have a poor goalkeeper.

f*** that! We've spent the last 18 months trying to build a more attacking, progressive side, for better or worse. To slam the hand-brake on that and get that fat old crook on board would be the ultimate in short-termism. If we're locked in a relegation scrap at xmas, maybe, but we've just played the 1st game of November FFS!

Absolutely agree with this post,I think we're playing good football but just been making poor mistakes defensively,if we can sort that out we look like we've got goals in us and the results will come, probably against sides we don't expect them to,have faith in pards cos he's not a bad mamager

Everton are having a good go at being more inept than us against chelski.

A shame to see so many personal insults flying around between fans who all want the best for the club.

Sam isn't the answer. Notwithstanding the fact that he is under investigation anyway.

Pards is definitely pushing his luck, but I don't think that changing now is the answer. I also think that there isn't an obvious replacement for him.

If qpr don't take Tim sherwood it could be another approach for him or are we really too good for his abilities ?

lol ive forgotten more than you will ever know about football sunshine and unlike you I understand how to look at the positives in something.Your miserable outlook and abusive toddler like responses are no doubt indicative of your miserable little existence and limited knowledge of how to appreciate anything. Like all the anti-AP crowd you ignore anything good and choose only the negatives to continuously soap-box your opinions, you are entitled to them but they prevent you from enjoying supporting the club at its finest point in history. You are a modern day fan, a self-entitled brat who has forgotten what its actually all about ironically because of the success the club has had in recent years. As ive said a few times, sometimes I feel like relegation would be a bonus just to send you lot into a real meltdown whereby you disappear up your own rear ends and find something else to focus your projectile vomiting on.

You sumg w***er. I've been supporting the club since I was old enough to walk.Well over 30 years now f*** off before I decide to take offence.

Sacking Pardew is not the answer. We're not in the bottom 3 (yet!) but I think the lack of focus we have during long periods of the game is a real issue.

Ok, we were unlucky today and if Townsend's shot at the end went in instead of hitting the post we wouldn't all be feeling so negative.

cucking thing is I have been following palace since 1978, I was six when my uncle first started taking me. Then I went on my own as soon as my mum would let me, think I was about 10. So thats over 35 years behind the red and blue, To have blokes that havn't been off thier mums tit that long digging you out over a difference of opinion is annoying.

We all want Palace to do well. My view is that AP has assembled a squad that are better than his managergerial expericance can handle.

It seems quite obvious to anyone who has a basic knowledge of football that the players are almost playing within themselves to fit his way of playing. When we went two up front we battered Burnley. But as is the way with AP he will only revert to that after teams have had a 45 minute head start, or a goal or two. That arrogance is what IMO will take us down.
