That is laughable. Berahino most certainly is not coming to a club likely to be in a relegation battle next season. He will be in a top 8 club.

Stoke are in for him and they finished 9th last season.Understand Berahino lives in Staffordshire.

Comparing Stoke to us, as I mentioned they finished 9th, compared to our 15th and they play in a modern stadium before crowds of approx 27,000.

And wages / cash go a lot further in Stoke. Even though most eateries / bars / pubs etc in SE25 are extremely competitive in London terms!

At least we wilL have a decision within the next 24hrs, which if not in our favour, will further narrow our search for a striker to Benteke and perhaps ,one or two others.

Keep up the positivity as the great AP stated in the Evening Standard that he was after bringing in FIVE strikers, so something must happen soon!!

Is it ever really worth trying to second guess what a player values in a transfer (aside wages that is)?

I think we'll either get Berahino or not getting Berahino will push us to meet Liverpool's demands for Benteke.

With the greatest of respect, I am certainly no "Troll".

At the end of the day I am trying to be realistic and whilst there is a lot of positivity surrounding our club there are perhaps certain factors which don't work in our favour for a number of reasons.

We finished 15th mainly because we lacked a decent striker....we also reached the FA Cup Final.

So I don't think there's much to choose between the two clubs, and my guess is Berahino will join the club that offers him the best financial package, same as the majority of players do.

Berahino will be looking to get into national team and to do that he has to play.

The fact we lack a decent striker may act in our favour as he will get games. If he is friendly with Bolasie as stated in one newspaper that will do no harm either

At Stoke he will have more competition so may be rotated and that may not suit him but it is closer to where he lives

Why is it? If he signs for Stoke he won't have to move.
