Psg were in the champions league that wasn't enough to keep him. Roma have a very strong central midfield and he is not guaranteed first team football there, which is the reason he is leaving Psg in the first place. If he is leaving for the right reasons then we still have a chance.

Would be quality, however, is he really that much better/different to Jason Puncheon? Ok, so he's more tenacious, but is that a quality we're lacking further back in our midfield? As others have said, I'd prefer a striker and and CB, unless we're still looking at having the same sort of funds for each of those positions.

People now saying Roma were in from the start but it's only just being reported, which means it may not be the last-minute spanner in the works we were fearing. If it's true they have been interested for a while and YC knew about their bid but still wanted to come back to the PL and work with Pards again, then all may not be lost. Let's all just try to be patient and see what happens in the next few days.

Has there been anything more reliable to indicate this might actually happen than bookies odds, tabloid reports and dodgy ITK ex-models on Twitter? I'm trying to protect myself from more Ross McCormack-esque heartache when he suddenly announces he's going to Roma or somewhere else instead.
Well that didn't take long.

Maybe he's just waiting to see if the strike is going to finish (because he's afraid of flying). In which case HOL needs go all out D Day II

God this is getting me so wet it is rediculous that i may come off. Maybe, just maybe, YC doesnt want to play in Italy. For some reason the prem is regarded as one of the best in the world, if he showcases his talents well here then he has a great chance of getting into the France squad for Euros. I think the fact that the press pump a player up so much here will help in this case as every time he plays well, drags us along, it will be everywhere. I dont know how the Italian press report on their players over there. I could only name you one Roma player from last year that is Ashley Cole. The Serie A just doesnt get the exposyre the prem does, plus we have Pardiola and he knows how to get the best out of him. There has been a lot of smoke on this one, much more than most of our other transfer targets so I am quietly optimisitic and ruining many a pair of boxers

many of us have played sports. all things being roughly equal, it's a complete no-brainer to go play for a coach you know and trust and have done well under. it's not even a 2nd thought unless you're stepping up in class. considering he wants a proper team and guaranteed minutes, the only thing to sort out is the money.

A supposed ITK on the BBS said we'd got him, then this popped up: Crystal Palace and West Ham in battle to sign Yohan Cabaye Both clubs are willing to meet PSG’s £10 million asking price By Jason Burt10:22PM BST 01 Jul 2015 So I'm f*cked if I know what's going on.

Wet Spams attempt to highjack the deal won't work, because Pardue knows the player, and Cabaye wants to work for a manager who he trusts to bring out the best of him. My theory anyway!

I'm sorry my friend but I'm not sure life is ever as nice as that. There are many a HOLer and BBSer who think of us as equal in some way to west ham; we are far from it I'm afraid. They can offer more wages, are in European competition and are about to start playing in front of huge crowds at an iconic stadium. They have a pretty good chance at getting him.
