I've a hunch we'll be getting him, the interview for me sounds like a goodbye and he'll be making the most of Saturday to say so to the fans.

Fingers crossed. Would be an exciting and progressive appointment.

True but I'd sleep a little easier if we had an experienced grizzled No2 who knew their way around the block as well.

Aye. Though Howe has his own way of doing things, to an amazing degree of effectiveness. It'll be interesting to see what happens in regard to the coaching staff, should he get the job.

Don't worry though, Terry Venables has stuck his CV through Steve Parish's door...and the office cat promptly shat on it.

Hahah v funny made me laugh!

Where does that sit with your hunch that Hughton was lined up before Burley was sacked?

I've a hunch all the managers linked with the post will be coming

I think Hughton's dead in the water now. Not literally.

Can anybody please tell me why so many are happy with Eddie Howe. At 33 he should still be playing. He has no experience, and experience is what we need at the moment. We need a name that can attract good players. I have no doubt the he could be a great manager in, but we dont have time. There are enough good experienced managers available at the moment. We've missed out on Phil Brown, but, Paul Jewel, Big Sam, Alan Curbishly, Gareth Southgate, Chris Coleman, Ray Wilkins are just a few. I would prefer Dougie Freedman to get the job over Eddie Howe. Or is it the same old thing. We will NOT pay the wages for players or managers of any quality. DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do some research on him and you will see why we would be happy. Also have a look at the cherries sites, see what they think.

It's all in this thread. To summarise, and to address your point that 'we don't have time' - Eddie Howe first took over at Bournemouth just over two years ago. They had such a small squad that their 41 year old assistant manager was on the bench with a couple of youth players each week - and they usuall had only three or four subs in total

On top of this, they had -17 points having gone into adminstration.

Howe kept them up, then won automatic promotion the next season, and they are now third in League 1. Where exactly was the delay in his success?

I also did not realise he was so young, we have just signed a front man far older!

So did Eddie when, in an inspired move, the first person he brought back to the club after he was made manager was this Bournemouth legend:-

Anyway, why am I defending him to you . Move along now. Nothing to see here......

Burley had experience and look what happened there...

Southgate, Coleman have experience of f**king teams up thats it...

Do you honestly think Curbishly or Big Sam would even consider coming to Palace?

Ray Wilkins has experience as a coach not a manager...

I think Howe will be a very good move for us, really hope we can get him in.

Fair enough you have your opinion, but do me a favour and have a look at what he's achieved with the Cherries and then tell me you'd prefer Ray Wilkins etc. Eddie Howe's achievements with Bournemouth are nothing short of miraculous. The mans a motivator, just what a struggling team needs, a large dose of confidence/motivation. Our team has some fantastic players, just seems they need organising and an arm over the shoulder. Not that I'm saying a few extra additions won't be welcomed.
