So did Wilf turn up for training this morn? Some reports say he did.

No smoke without fire and even though just days remain before the window shuts,it may just be possible that if Wilf is so desperate to play elsewhere and avoid the annual struggle to avoid relegation that seems to haunt the Club every year, then Parish may agree to a significant up front fee and have Everton send us both Tosun and McCarthy as part of the deal.

There is when it comes to transfer rumours.

Who knows when to ‘trust’ a rumour and when not? But it’s usually the case that when a player really wants to leave ( and Zaha clearly does) the club really can’t stop it happening. Can we get someone in to replace him in time.....?

Hrolf will disagree. Personally I think it depends on the offer and the club making it. It’s easy for Parish to bat away £40 mil but get close to and over £70 mil and it starts to get trickier.

this is getting comical!!!

both BBC and the S*n reporting about the bid made by Evteron 2 weeks ago ( cash plus players) that Everton DENIED the next day thus calling Sky kav a liar!!!!

in that statement Everton were quoted as saying that had NO further interest in Wilf so i suspect his people are running out of news outlets to try "leak" the story to hence the independent story?

also how many diff journos/news outlets can they promise a % of his loyaly bonus to!!!!

How about the false rumours of hundreds of players we’ve been linked with?

If this rumour is legit (and that’s a big if) do we think Wilf would really be keen to move from us to Everton if we’d already done more transfer business this summer?

Everton is, at best, a marginal step up. But seems more lucrative because they’ve invested this summer in splashy deals like Kean. Meanwhile we’ve cheaper out again and as a result look like we’re in another relegation battle.

Another example of Parish being slow to get deals over the line costing us. Not to mention lack of squad cohesion to start the season. Moral of the story: Do business earlier you tight prick.

Well in the next few days we’ll have clarity one way or the other about where Zaha will begin his season.
What I don’t want is for him to sign yet another bumper 5 year deal with Palace in the next week or so and say he never wanted to leave etc.
Then we have the same situation arising in the next windows with the stories about him wanting away as in the past few seasons.
People can blame his agent/advisers but it would be very simple for him or the club to dismiss the stories.
At the end of the day the club has to be bigger than the player.

I’ve been told that Everton are willing to pay £220k per week which is what Wilf is after. They also have plans to emulate Man City as they have a new chairman ready to splash the money.

The other possibility (and the one I much prefer) is that if Chelsea can lift the transfer embargo, a pre agreement of £80m is lined up + Batshuayi + Reece James on loan for the season. We’d also keep Wilf until Jan/next summer. Chelsea also offering £220k per week.

Arsenal we’re offering him a pay cut so had no interest.

My source is very close to Wilf but has fed me duff info in the past so don’t know how likely any of this is.

I personally think he will stay now as we haven’t got time to find a suitable replacement. I’d also feel very disappointed if he ended up at Everton.
