Can’t see it myself - at least not regular people causing trouble. The actual violence level today was about a 2/10. And not from the majority either. I can see far right terrorism becoming more of a thing though. And I mean actual terrorism, like bombings, shootings and so on. Yep, I think that's how it's going to go.....but not for a while yet. Still, it's always true that the vast majority are rarely involved at the sharp end. It's much more disingenuous and tacid. Edited by Stirlingsays (07 Jan 2021 9.36am)

We've had an MP shot dead in 2016 and an attack on a mosque in 2017. Other attacks have been happening round the world.

Some democracy. He has his hand on the nuclear codes but he can't have a Twitter account. The arrogance of these companies is staggering. Those in government must get a grip of the media. They have used free speech as an excuse to do what they like for decades and now deny others the same rights. Even the President. Wake up everyone.

There's a lot of gravy to be made for politicians keeping the status quo.

Edited by Stirlingsays (07 Jan 2021 9.36am) Involved, no, but that isn't the point – it's whether the masses are supportive or sympathetic towards it, that's the key. That's when it becomes a problem.

'Supporters of Trump have stormed the US Capitol to protest lawmakers certifying Joe Biden's victory. Do you support or oppose?' Republicans YouGov US As stated, the real war is and will be within the GOP. What Democrats do is almost an irrelevance....in fact the more they rag on Trump the better.

I don't think there will ever be a majority for political violence. That's nearly always on the edges of movements. I think what you will see is a more radical or split GOP and red states that imitate what the blue states did during Trump's presidency....in other words ignore the president. In my view, in a few decades time people will say the fragmentation of America started around 2016 and just slowly accelerated from there. If it doesn't eventually break up the union will change and become far looser....some will keep the constitution, for example and other states won't or will operate under a different one.
