GOP senators backing off their dangerous and pointless plan to object to the electoral college votes like rats leaving a sinking ship. Trump, unable to tweet, neutered and silenced, can only watch. Trumps kids and sycophants remain silent. Biden will be certified this night, and the next time trump tweets, he will accept his defeat, though he will again claim its corrupt.

The Republican party will adapt to not be so racially geared. There are plenty of Conservatives in some non white communities. Elections are almost always close run things because parties fine tune their message to the state of play at the time and so that is likely to continue even as demographics change. I cannot believe that the security and Police forces were unaware of the probability of this happening. It has been all over the Trump-supporting forums for weeks with many posters advocating exactly what has happened. Trump has himself gone out of his way, if not to directly encourage it, to do nothing to discourage it. So the question is whether they allowed it to go ahead as a kind of shock therapy. A way of signalling to the bulk of the GOP that this has gone too far and has to stop?
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Having had his Twitter account suspended Trump must be having a Gordon Ramsey meltdown. Cant be long before the men in white coats turn up. The Republican party are washing their hands of him. Lawyers who he persuaded to launch the failed lawsuits re being investigated by their own law firms. He is simply toxic in political terms.

Talk of the Croydon riots in 2011 were all over Facebook the day before, but there were no sign of any police when it happened. After cuts in 2010, I'm pretty sure the police were quite happy for them to go ahead. People who were advocating de-funding the police a few months ago and celebrating police stations being burnt down have now completely changed their tune.
