So when those cards tumble he can always say, 'well we didn't commit enough'. Well slap my thigh Snyder.....If you ever think about what was realistically possible before supporting this war? No, didn't think so. We had one play and that was forcing Russia to stop due to economics....that failed, all we are watching now is the embarrassed pause before the winter stops this tragedy. I can say straight here and now, Russia aren't going to lose this war. Snyder is living a fantasy. I don't need a 'get out' clause because it's obvious to anyone objective who actually takes a look at it.

Putin has made it clear his ambitions don’t stop at Ukraine. And what will China think if they see the west scared of beating Putin, as the US have committed to defend Taiwan

And what will China think if they see the west scared of beating Putin, as the US have committed to defend Taiwan You are posting at me again. I'll answer you but I'd rather you post at others. You just repeated what Snyder said back to me. I don't see how anyone objective doesn't see that as a get out clause because it's obvious that the west aren't going to commit its own lives and all its equipment in Ukraine.....How is that sensible?...I mean you talk about China yet you want Nato to use everything?..Which is what would need to happen..and let's not forget the other threats in the world. Besides you could never train the Ukrainian troops on the equipment in enough numbers...it's a fantasy land. Where has Putin 'made it clear his ambitions don't stop at Ukraine'? I think you are buying into propaganda again. Think about it....How would Russia hold ground outside of the Ukraine? East and South Ukraine have Russian populations. Indeed, I don't see Russia staying in western Ukraine for that very reason. If it goes that far it would only take it to negotiate away. As for China, they aren't stupid. They know no one 'beats' a nuclear state. Sensible people understand that this ends in negotiation, no one is going to 'beat' Nato and no one is going to 'beat' Russia or China or any nuclear state. America have already stated via Biden that they won't commit troops to Taiwan. I certainly do think an invasion is on the cards, however the idea that the States have to beat Russia to stop it is comic book thinking. You actually think the US would physically fight China don't you.....No, if it happens, what you would get is a repeat of this situation here. You are talking the language of the playground and when the lives of billions of people are at stake the responsibility levels are incredibly high. At this level of escalation even the chances of a mistake can send us all back to the stone age. Yet you talk about WW3 as if nuclear states would accept humiliation and over-throw.
