That was 7 years ago, you'd have thought with similar amount of pre-seasons to gain experience, that we wouldn't be fckin about again. It's worth remembering, that a manager will want to gauge the squad, and have time to train his ideas into the squad, and then add to it , all this takes time, which as each week goes by, we are running out of. The start of the seasons has been kind to us fixture wise, and we need to hit the ground running, my worry is that we have learnt nothing from the past and will just meander into another season, without the preparation we need.

I wondered when the head of the Steve Parish fan club would turn up May I refer you to my post of earlier this morning [Link] where I pointed out that he didn't put his head on the block as his funding was all fully secured.

I'm pretty sick of hearing people reckoning they could run the club better than Parish can because frankly none of you would last five minutes. It's fine to say he might have done this and not that, even to criticise, because nobody is perfect; but slagging him and claiming that you know more about it than him is just bollocks and if you think running a PL football club in the present environment is easy then you are deluding yourself enormously.
Quite simply a dof will make his Jon monumentally easier. Then when we have a manager his job gets even easier. Sorry to state the obvious but it needs saying.

If Sam had stayed there would have been a minimal amount of recruitment this window.

Well one things for certain the new manager will be from abroad. If it's De Boer I wonder if Parish spoke to LVG when he came over to Manchester for Michael Carricks testimonial?LVG could of given Steve the low down on De Boer before interviewing him. LVG is one of De Boer's idols.

Going by results, there has only been one season under Parish where you could fault him. That was last year and his extended loyalty to Pardew. Other than that, our results have all been as good -- or better -- than we could have hoped and his recruitment has worked when you take it over a full season. For that reason alone, he deserves our support. Most sensible people know what reasonably expectations for next year look like. Let's judge his dithering/diligence then. It's not fun to watch the process, but the outcomes of Parish's work have been great.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |
