This signing along with Remy would show clear intent and both would dramatically improve our squad. A good statement to make with the window nearing an end. Hopefully followed by an attacking midfielder and holding player... Both of whom must improve our stagnant creativity and static movement. Fingers crossed.

No the transfer registration paperwork has to be lodged with the FA before 12 midday today by electronic post, any original paperwork needed can be delivered by hand later.

We will struggle to get a result against Spurs. However, let's not have toys out of the pram!! We will be a mid table team but the inclusion of Benteke, Mandanda, Tomkins and one other shows real intent. Support of AP and SP not criticism is now needed. COYP!

Remy on top would be great. Bentecke, Remy, and Wickham. There is some strength and options there. I do feel we need someone else in the middle of the park though. Puncheon seems to be the only creative/technical midfielder that can play in the hole. Cabaye is great but he is a deep playing midfielder.

From this mornings presser, Pardew clearly recognises he needs to bring in a top DM to replace Jedi. Hopefully another good wide player will come in to replace Bolasie. Whether theres also dosh for a top play maker I personally doubt, but if Cabaye could be shifted more into a more attacking midfielder role, then that would do the job
