There are undoubtedly too many idle people content who live on benefits, too many single mothers happy to do the same and far too many drug abusers. Finding ways to reduce this is something almost everyone, the BBC included, would surely agree on. The problem is not the destination. It’s the route that needs to be taken to get there and the collateral damage that will be caused on the way. Finding a solution to this has not yet been discovered.
