Can we have a breakdown please? I find this figure excessive. Just a guess but eze. Olise, guehi, Anderson, decoure maybe 300 m and that would be underestimated. The rest added up might reach that figure or close to. Just saying.

A tiny % of any clubs academy players make the grade. If a tiny % of ours do then the academy pays for itself surely. To keep spending without the pressure on the academy coaches to actually do a good job seems wrong. It’s a game of chance and just occasionally it comes good.

We would all like the board to open the cheque book but it's not going to happen. The truth is that there is nothing we can do about it. Mike Ashley was hated by Newcastle fans for years who protested on a regular basis so that he couldn't even go near the city. Ashley just ignored it the only reason he sold the club was out of the blue the Saudis arrived with a sack load of goal that had nothing to do with the clubs supporters. Click bait is now saying that Manchester United has been taken off the market by the Glaziers (hated by the fans) as they haven't received the price they want for the club. Again Man United fans protest all the time the Glaziers don't give a damn they will go when it suits them and not before. So we are stuck with our board for the time being. The only ray of light I see is that once the new stand is built* we will be more attractive to a buyer as the hard work will have been done. *Would you buy a house that needed a major renovation where costs and what you might find once you start are uncertain? Or would you buy a house where all the hard work has been done and you know where you are? Edited by Badger11 (03 Sep 2023 7.53am) Once the new stand is built and operational, I think we will have an entirely new ownership model at the Club.

Certainly: I think the board would be delighted if they could off load that group for 580m. I think some of your numbers are a little generous but I wouldn't disagree too much. It's nice that we can actually have a discussion about whether the squad is worth more or less than £580m rather than Charlton fans who are wondering how the club is going to cut their wage bill from 10m to 2.5m pa.

I don’t believe I’d be that happy being a City fan or any other team who just throw millions of pounds to buy success. Been happy to be a palace for over 60 years and if we finally get into a top 7 finish I’m sure I’d be more chuffed than the money teams fans .Until then will stay on the palace roller coaster although not so many dips as in past few years
