That is fine in my eyes - the House is a fair place to do as you want - plus there is a referee in place!.
I just thought that her throwaway line was for the party faithful and that it lacked class.
I detest Sturgeon and Blackford so I am not batting for them by any means.

You have a point. For me what we are seeing now, with zero pretence now made about it, is the absolute naked blind ambition, where nothing else matters other than just achieving a specific goal. Not even the slightest attempt to cover it up or pretend any of them have the genuine good of the country at heart.

And this is not about the actual tax cuts themselves, the wisdom or lack of, but just how principles and policies are shaped by nothing else other than what is good for them.

We have no credible political leadership available across the board.

It really is time for a 'reset'.

Depressing but unarguable.

If the 'Gammons' had been given a choice, they would have gone for an African lady.

You can slate the Tory party for all kinds but it is by far the most progressive political institution in this country in terms of its senior politicians.

Also surprisingly true. 3 female leaders (including a lesbian one north of the wall), a fourth on the way, and a collection of well supported people of ethnicity in the leadership contest. Take that labour!

I don't agree your whole post. The right of the membership may have gone for Badenoch, but the gammons in the community would not have. Come the general election they would have stayed at home in their droves and watched re-runs of To the Manor Born rather than vote in a lady of colour.

Perhaps that's your prejudice.

I think the greater truth is that 'gammons' want actual conservatives.

I do find it hilarious that labour call for a general election saying that the country should decide because they never voted for the newcomer.

Gordon Brown was PM for 3 years in exactly the same situation. 3 monkeys springs to mind.

In terms of the tory election. Truss is nailed on to win. Sadly, once it went to the membership there was only going to be one winner and by a landslide. The furthest right option. The irony being that she was a remainer and Sunik voted leave!

This is exactly the same situation that labour face. i.e. the furthest left wins.

She may well be ‘that’ conservative if she wins. Boris maybe was with tons of plaudits prior to taking the helm. Then covid and his woke mrs happened and the rest is history as they say. Truss has had abuse from her own, labour, all other parties so she may come in and think ‘ I might as do it my way’ got absolutely nothing to lose as they all hate me anyway. Btw she was correct about the Scottish fish and at least someone had the balls to say it. Wait for blackford to get ironed out at PMQs.

Blackford ironed out by truss? Only if she finds the door in-and even then I can"t see her taking on anyone with the slightest knowledge about anything, let alone getting ironed out!

Ah well, wait till she has to go to the weekly meetings with HM the Queen, who probably knows more than the lot of them put together....she's seen 14 of them off already!

I know an array of members who will be at the hustings in Eastbourne on Friday.
All very supportive of Liz Truss.

Is that in preference to Sunak or generally?
