Same. I remember thinking that at 0:0, even if it ended goal-less, whilst frustrating not to get the win I'd still have been really pleased with how we'd controlled it. So to get the win so emphatically is just amazing progress over the past month.

I was saying exactly the same to my son.
At 0-0 even if Harry Kane knicks one and we loose 1-0 I would still be pleased with the way that we had played and if we played like that against a lot of other teams in the division we would win more than we lost.

I'm so Palace I don't even know it

He said that as the game had been reported on in the Sunday Times, and the match had taken place 2 days ago, they now write ' themed ' reports on the Monday.

My response was ;

* Then don't headline it as a match report if it isn't
* Surely he could have written a piece on a player from the winning team rather than a squad player for the losers !

To be fair, he conceded those points although came out with the excuse that due to Covid restrictions, he had no access to the likes of Gallagher or Edouard and so was unable to write about them - which I don't accept...he didn't speak with Winks either !

So was Winks playing... I honestly didn't notice him

Tis all true i"m afraid, unless we do a Leicester one year it will always be thus! The atmosphere seemed to help the referee judge us fairly for a change against a big club, if we ever get a massive stand built, and full houses, we can surely see more of this unbias, and success builds success!

It’s all madness. Tottenham owe over a billion but have a brand new stadium and can turn down bids for Kane while we got put into administration, docked 10 points and had to sell Victor Moses for owing a fraction of that.

Which is something we've only achieved twice in the 'top flight' but never in the Premier League/Premiership.

1990/91 - won 20, lost 9
1991/92 - won 14, lost 13

And....Harry Kane was PANTS as a result of being nullified by our performance.

Thought Eduoard showed he’s a poacher.

However he’s a different player to Benteke and Benteke deserves some of the credit. 80 minutes physical battles with Benteke being a hold up man for the Spurs players to suddenly have to deal with a different player with 10 men.

Bats tried leading our line and couldn’t with any real effect. CB is a focal point.

Eduoard did the clever poacher role which we have been crying out for, but CB certainly didn’t have a bad game.

Eduoard basically stood around the penalty spot for both goals - not really a poacher, just a striker using common sense positioning in the penalty area, something Tekkers repeatedly fails to do.

For his first it was interesting the way he suddenly stopped to create a yard of space to receive the ball, again something i rarely see Tekkers do.

Benteke has never had the football to brain to anticipate anything and especially when and where the may ball come in to the penalty area, he can a head a ball but can't really control and that's about all he can do, so it's good to see that we now have a striker who can score, something CB has found consistently hard to do!

Different type of striker. CB is better in the air so the way he is marked is different.

I think Eduoard clearly knows where the goal is, then again Paul Warhurst scored on his debut too.

Time will tell!

Yeah, shocking, you can get away with lots if you are one of the top 6 glam clubs, makes beating them occasionally all the better!

It's good to have different options. If Edouard isn't doing it bring on Benteke. Same with Eze and Olise.

The ONLY season in the top flight in which we managed a positive goal difference. (Roy got us close to that three years back with 51-53)

I beg to differ in that for the first goal he me made a bee-line for the penalty spot as soon as the ball broke to Wilf and then maneouvred himself into that yard of space you mentioned.

Likewise for the second he ran parallel with Gallagher and pulled further away when he saw Gallagher receiving the ball from Olise and again made for the penalty spot.

In neither case was he standing around. it was excellent movement and anticipation.

Again we agree his movement for the first goal was particularly pleasing to se. Wilf must be ecstatic that there is now someone to make positive movement in the box
