I am not the least concerned about whether I lost, and as many of my friends disagree with me as agree, being the age group they are, I don't concern myself about them either. My concern is that the country lost, in so many ways. Claiming it was a "democratic" vote is the consistent mistake of most Brexiteers. It wasn't because referendums are not part of our system. The only thing that gave it legitimacy was when Parliament voted to accept it. Which, in my opinion, they ought never to have done, but is nevertheless their right.
How many times!!!

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

You mean like all those people who voted for Brexit? I think you will find that my world view is realistic and yours is the stuff of idealistic left wing dreamers.

Yes, look how well that has gone since we joined.

I don't recall you actually asking the question about rejoining. You are assuming that what I posted is unique to my views. A bespoke deal would be as good as leaving. Unfortunately the EU didn't want to play ball when we were in so why would the UK continue trying.

Yes, look how well that has gone since we joined. Any sensible person realises that there were loads of good reasons to leave the EU, but we’ve made things way worse in the short term and potentially long term. And with Covid it was the worst possible timing.

Self righteous bollox as usual, no surprise here At the end of the day though you've made two insulting and inappropriate posts in a row (cheered on by the clapping seals) and are still sitting pretty. If Becky can slip into my inbox due to a joke perhaps she should do the same here? Give us a treat with a bit of even handedness.. And at the same time, for all the annoyance some perceive with Wiz, what we can say is that he doesn't rely on or need a gang or group. He has his stance and he sticks with it. 'Old man' or not, he at least is a man. Edited by BlueJay (29 Aug 2021 7.14am)
