Signings he couldn’t get a tune out of. Managers are not judged on the players they sign, they are judged on results. He finished 9th and 13th.

He quit Burnley and signed for Bournemouth TWO later on 12th October.

He quit Bournemouth at the end of the season after he failed at keeping them up. Bournemouth’s (like us), number one objective is to stay in the league. Did he not fail?

Your are blinded by the facts. Regardless of his reasons, he has quit two clubs in 8 years. Fact! How can he not be a quitter in your view?

It’s like saying, he has shot and killed two ppl but he is not a murderer in my view hehehe!

With respect, I don't accept the arguments you have advanced.I stand 'Gummed' to my position on this matter.

You and I are going to have to agree to disagree on this matter.

While recognising Eddie Howe's merits, what concerns me most about him was how badly he lost the plot at Bournemouth last season.

I can't recall seeing a manager at that level look so helpless and resigned on the touchline and in his post match interviews.

A year out will have done him good I'm sure. But whether he is the right man to come in and manage what is a genuine ' project ' at Palace...I really don't know.

But the Burning question is ,Who then ? I don't have the answer either ,but as I mentioned before they will all come with certain risks whoever we decide on .

My wife would be a good candidate. She has no real understanding of the game, but she does know what the team needs to do. Whenever she watches a match she turns to me after a while and says "Why don't they just kick the ball into the goal instead of fannying around with it"?

Problem solved.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I would still like to risk Lampard. He did well in his first season when managing a small squad and successfully brought through a number of younger players. He struggled to manage a large squad of expensive imports, not a situation he is likely to face at Palace.
I imagine he has a good relationship with Cahill, who knows our squad well and useful contacts at Chelsea and their younger fringe players. Overall a risk worth taking.

Even though I'm not a Howe IN supporter - not sure on the basis of his work at bournemouth that he'd be a good fit for us - but to call a football manager who's had only 2 jobs in 8 years (with no gaps) a 'quitter' seems a tad harsh. Glad to give him the benefit of The doubt over his burnley record, especially if there was extenuating circumstances.

I'm Not sure you could tarnish him with 'quitter' over his time at B'Mouth. best part of 6 years at the helm. I sure goings-got-tough more times than just at the end...

People don’t change their moral fibre, Pulis walked out on Gillingham, then did it again to us. Howe has walked on 2 clubs, do you think he won’t do it again to another club?
Bruce is another one, who likes to ditch clubs for greener pastures.

The one mentioned on here that intrigues me the most, is Benitez, if he was truly interested, he would be ideal, knows the league, great record, i for one would be very pleased to see him here, but if honest I don’t think he will be interested
