Do I care what you think? No.....if its Ok for so called influencers to go there, footballers (think Sakho and others) with NO repercussions, then its OK for me....I will isolate when I return...I too have cancelled holidays in the last year (6 of them, including going to my sons wedding) If you wanna blame someone blame the Chinese who started this mess! If you don't care about others opinions why post on this site that you will be breaking the law. You must expect to get criticised for that.

A mated told me that his cousin's mother who was 90 has just died of the virus. He lives with his mum and throughout this time has been bragging to my friend about swerving the lockdown. He knows little back street pubs if you know the secret password etc. As my friend said I wonder if it has occurred to him that his selfish behaviour may have caused the death of his mum. It does make you wonder doesn't it. Such a heavy price to pay, but equally the kind of thing you can see coming a mile off. I'd find it difficult to live with myself if I'd taken this approach with a loved on.. but maybe the kind of person acting this way just shrugs it off or has excuses lined up. His poor Mum.

J&J says its Covid vaccine is 66% effective - [Link] This one looks to be a big more of a mixed bag, but is just one shot and can be kept at refrigerating temperature, so is pretty versatile. "Effectiveness against severe disease increased over time with no cases in vaccinated participants reported after day 49, according to the company. "

Clever people wouldnt be bragging like you on a thread were people have lost people to covid and some are still getting through it and going through it. Clever people would come on here and say they had a chance to go and didnt because of covid. Clever people wouldnt expect a well done mate ,good luck, have a great time, which is what you obviously did. Love

Aint gonna happen mate, what you have now is what you will have for ever.....there will be no future without masks and restrictions....the future has been stolen from us all Just go and enjoy. I’ve been in the canaries for 3 months now with very little infection in my area and the overall atmosphere is so much better than at home, with people keeping their distance, masking up appropriately, sticking in groups of no more than 4 and as a result bars and restaurants are still open. I wouldn’t have advertised what you are doing but you have proved yourself free of it and I see no difference being in one area free of it to another, just be prepared for a horrendous return to the UK and what it might entail. I don’t consider moving from one area to another selfish. Selfish is not getting tested regularly, not socially distancing, not following hygiene rules etc, etc. I think you have been harshly judged on here but as long as what you do is carried out in a sensible manner I see no real reason why you cannot go. Another thing that might benefit the UK. I can get a same day answer test here for €40 so if I even pick up a sniffle, I drop in and get a test. Had a couple since I have been here. Maybe if they were offered like this at home and that sort of price then people would feel more comfortable moving around.
