Let’s face it we know nothing. Except the mystery surrounding Sorloth, just gets deeper and deeper. Obviously there must be something in Sorloths , loan, that can only be viewed as unusual, but what it is can only be guessed at.

If we hadn't got there already, I feel we are definitely at the point where Parish needs to come out and make our position clear. Trabs president seems to be courting the media and if the 50% of games this season thing is true I cannot fathom how it will end well financially for them. If Spurs/Liepzig/whoever are in for him (all by the way surely a more attractive proposition than another season in Turkey, even if you are banging goals in for fun) then from the outside looking in all Sorloth would need to do is cancel his loan and get his big move. Why would he wait another season out of loyalty to Trabs and possibly miss out. Key bit is, 'outside looking in'. Would really really like Parish, in whatever medium, to come out and say 'we're entitled to this, they're entitled to that' etc. The only reason I can think he isn't is 1) we've stitched ourselves royally or 2) he's got a chinook on standby and legal folk working through the final details of an extraction plan from Trabzon. Hoping it's the latter.

Understand why he wouldn't normally comment on transfer activity but you don't normally have a president of another club that you've loaned a player to telling the media that he is negotiating deals for a player he doesn't seemingly own.

It's not really the media's business either really - they've got no power in who ends up with the money. It's a bit different if their President is saying it to the judge of a tribunal who's trying to work out who owns Sorloth, but anyone else is irrelevant. I can't imagine Levy is working out who to speak to based on what the Sun says to do. Gut feeling is we probably have lost out here so will take anything else as a welcome surprise.

This whole story is very strange. It’s hard to know what’s true and what the media are making up. I know Jose has lost the plot but surely even he wouldn’t be interested in a player who has only managed to score goals in a second rate league.

Always supposing the figures being mooted are correct. It would seem whatever the hitch is here, it must be a big one.

Maybe some fans will be less quick to write off new signings. SP obviously takes fans viewpoint into consideration when they're acting like a football pundit such as Gary Neville It's not as if we had a comparable striker who was banging them in since the Murray days Edited by Vincehair (14 Sep 2020 10.53am)

I so hope this happens. We then get our money back to spend elsewhere and Spurs end up with a player who isn’t very good. What’s not to like?! There is obviously loads more to this than meets the eye as although he was a terrible player for us, the management still could not wait to get shot of him (first to Gent on loan and then to Trabzonbspor on a two year loan deal which basically saw his contract out). A lot more to it surely? As eluded to by Neil Warnock on Soccer Saturday once.

Sorloth was never going to be a big hit at Palace. We don't score from crosses anymore. In fact we cant cross the ball. Ask Benteke. We cant even take very good corners and we haven't scored from one since the dark ages.
