Unbelievable they are no longer part of the working Royals and have made millions in Hollywood and yet expect the taxpayer to foot their security bill.

Sick of Harry & Meghan? Too bloody right I am , talk about tone deaf when people can't pay their energy bills...

The nerve. A pair of grifters raking in millions while wanting us to continue to foot the bill. They should make up their mind where they want to reside and take it from there. Not expect the British tax payer to cater to their every whim.

The point that these two clowns are missing is that even if they do pay for it themselves, they then divert Police resources. Would we allow that for any other rich, private citizen that has decided to live overseas? No, of course not.
They chose to move to the US. They chose to step away from the Royal Family yet here we are again, they’re trying to get Royal protection from our Police and regardless if they fund it or not, the decision to say “no, piss off” has to be upheld otherwise it could open the door for other overly entitled knobs to do the same.

When Edward 8th abdicated he was never given royal protection and he was an ex-King.

So if you wants benefits you have to tell the government how much assets you have and what your income is.

If I was PM I would publicly tell the grasping duo that the public have a right to know all details about their personal wealth before we would consider paying for their protection so hand over your Hollywood contracts and your bank statements.

I would also tell the Royal family that if the taxpayer is forced by the courts to pay for their protection then the civil list will be reduced accordingly that should please HMQ.

Just so mad over this.

Exactly that. And even if it is decided that they're to get this protection, it's beyond entitled, when they can clearly afford it was ease to expect the tax payer to foot the bill.

They certainly don't mind making tens of millions off of their royal credentials, but as soon as anyone wants 'them' to pay for anything related to it they're affronted by the very idea.

Okay so Harry and Meghan are now saying they want to pay for police protection.

The police have limited resources if they want protection they can hire their own personal security, it's not Rent A Cop.

They mentioned paying for it in the piece you linked to, they cannot have 'private protection' as in the UK it's against the law for civilians to carry firearms(which is why they can't bring over their American protection), so, having UK protection it would have to armed officers/forces who are allowed legally to bear arms.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

I think the Mail updated the article I saw it last night and at the time it read that they wanted the government to pay for it that has definitely changed.

I take your point about armed officers but this could apply to any celebrity unless there is a specific threat they are on their own.

I didnt realise the piece had been updated. I think there is always an ongoing real threat to any of our senior royals no matter where they are & atm, Harry falls in that category. Lets face it, we hardly see any 'beat-bobbies' any more they are all swanning about in high powered motors thinking they're John Thaw.

Someone was pointing out earlier that a lot of time is wasted by police 'pixilating' their bodycam footage. If Harry wants to cover the cost of protection, then i'm fine with that, let him, saves the tax payer having to do it, although the powers that be will probably charge us anyway.

Every time a new story emerges about this dreadful, grasping, ungrateful, very wealthy, insincere and over-privilaged couple I become more furious that they just don't see how it makes them appear to us mere mortals.

The sheer nerve of them asking for our Police to protect them beggars belief.

Lone girls out for a run to keep fit are far more deserving of Police protection than these two. Sad sign of the times, but you get my drift.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Yeah, I agree, let them have it and let them pay for it.
