I wouldn’t blame Roy if he walked out similar to Pulis but he’s too much of a gentleman do so. The club is a shambles at the moment. This is going to be our seventh season in the premier league yet we seem clueless in regard to transfers...it fvcking embarrassing.

Quite so; that's the only way the punishment would work for super-wealthy owners who don't care how much they spend on their vanity project and aren't looking for a return on investment.

And yet there are people on the other thread saying Pulis didn’t deserve his bonus he delivered on, and we made a profit in season one in the Prem.

Parish knows Roy won’t walk, which is why he’s doing this. The sh1t show of a recent past makes it more valid that he does this, not that it’s completely necessary or wise on all signings mind you, or positions unfilled, like (a 2nd striker in the squad or a 2nd left back in the past), or right back to replace the one we’ve sold for £50 mil, and not play the ageing one who’ll get roasted on a weekly basis when teams are at full speed from September onwards.

I’ll be getting very agitated next week. We do have a team to field to begin with but these signings are crucial. A right back and striker are a minimum.

It goes against the grain to knock SP - but I’ve gotta admit our transfer dealings are embarrassing. It’s inconceivable to me that professional coaches can’t see that we are in need of reinforcements. I see the way Bournemouth operate and can’t understand why We don’t have the same approach. I.e identify your targets and pay the money (structured in a way that is agreeable to both clubs).
Every season we leave it late and have a slow start to the campaign frustrates the hell out of me and I can’t see what added value DF brings to proceedings!

Bournemouth again! While I agree with what you’re saying they do better than us, they’ve always had the confidence of the Russian oligarch’s bottomless pit of money to do whatever they fancy or try out to see if it works. We don’t have that money to get wrong or waste, even more so now, especially now we’re having to pay the US shareholders their £45 mil owed and whatever else lost this 19/20 season aside from the AWB profit that hopefully some will be used to evolve the team.

It’s what’s led us to this that I’m concerned about and we get ahold of, not necessarily that this predicament is here with us.

Having said all that we’d be trying to sign players as late as possible regardless so it’s really who we sign and the terms of the deals that’ll be in question, with I guess the players we MIGHT HAVE got earlier for similar or the same costs.

Gareth Bale - could we offer him a lifeline to resurrect his career at Palace? His relationship with Zidane is dead and his options of a move are limited. He doesn't need the money so we could go in with a cheeky offer including golf club membership which should sweeten the deal as he likes playing golf. This would work either as a Zaha replacement or squad booster. We would be adept at sticking the ball on Benteke's head in the small square of the pitch that he's effective.

The bottom line will surely be £40-50 million spend this year, around what Sam got when he first became manager, beyond the circus around our best players. If we are paying this window for a very large wage bill and we need to get it under control then fair enough. However looking at other teams around us if we don't turn this around fairly soon we will be in trouble in this league. Still sometime to get some quality in so we will have to wait and see. ‘£40-50 million spend this year.’ I’d lower your expectations. I’m expecting a RB, which we’ve tried to get for £10 mil to just under £20 mil and a loan striker.

Some of the AWB profit is unfortunately going to pay off director loans. We also still need more earners to leave as we add to the squad.

This Parish tactic of leaving it til the last minute to try and squeeze out the best deal doesn't work anymore because everybody in Europe knows it and they're gonna fist us with it.

The good deals are there at the end for players that the club wants to get rid of.

The deals for players that the clubs don't want to get rid of go up at the end because they can't replace.

You're just going to end up signing cast offs. If we can seriously find 2-3 (we need at least 4) cast offs who are capable of playing well in a mid-table side Id be really surprised. Pleased, but surprised.

The frustrating reality is that none of us have a clue what’s going on.
Last week we were supposedly close to signing McCarthy and Jenkinson.
This week it’s some Russian striker we’ve ever heard of (probably agent talk) and Watkins.
It’s got to the stage where the key will be to retain a motivated Zaha and get a couple of decent loans - right back/ defensive cover and an attacking player that can contribute a few goals.
Seems to be shambolic, but I’m probably wrong.
