Agreed, and frankly I don't trust SP to use the money received wisely; we don't want another Christian Benteke or Conor Wickham!

Seconded ,Plus Id much rather see him in a palace shirt next season than a manure one .

oh yeah ,fcuk off brighton.

At the bottom of HOL Home Page is a post from Old Trafford Faithful(weblog) @ 11.35am. In it there is a mock up picture of AWB in a Utd shirt. They claim via a SUN exclusive that he has asked for his 'dream move'.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

I'm confused reading this Thread, So, we haven't got enough money to pay for new players wages, but we have got enough money to give awb 100k per week ?

I'm all for keeping him, but the hard truth is that a football club needs to be run as financially viable entity nowadays.
The most Effective way to see a return is to sell academy players for a f*ckload of money. AWB has a lot of promise, and I'm sure will be immense later in his career, but he is not yet immense. ManU are gambling 53m (reportedly) on this. What if the unthinkable happens and he has a career ending injury next year? Reluctantly I say cash in.

Clubs like ours have to walk the fine line of ambition and progression by selling players on to generate income, in order to buy 'upgrades'. Then, the more success you have the More money you generate outside of player sales and the less you need to sell players. this only works, mind, if you have a decent scouting system......

I agree 100%. He could do his cruciate next season and we are left with a dud. Cash in while he is hot.

Stick to the £60M. No less! It's pretty obvious when everybody is pushing in every single way to force the selling isn't in our interest but theirs. All the press tactics are in place don't let them fool us. AWB is a wonderful player but also a nice and clever boy...COYP

If it is 60 million that they are willing to pay then they are paying well over the odds for an unproven player. In comparison Van Dijk cost 75 million

At the very least 70m for Wan plus a forward player.
Lets stick out for the best deal, the big clubs do!
Forget the Everton couple, they haven't impressed much.
If Zaha goes, then it must be 80m plus a half decent player.
Would be happy to collect 150m for both, it must set us up for the future.
While we're at it, allow some of the players to go that just haven't made the grade. We can't wait forever for them to hit a rich vein of form!

i understand the sentiments of those that want to keep him...but for me RB isn't as critical a position for us as Winger / Forward...after all we still have Ward as cover.

People also need to realise that we're still very much a selling club and if we can make profits buying low / bringing through the academy and then selling for a profit then the club will be in good health.

If they offer £60m plus 20% sell on, we'll make more than enough.

i just hope we have his cover sorted BEFORE we sell though!

Are you sure you are a Palace fan?

What kind of dumb logic is that?

With the greatest of respect, it really is fanciful to believe that we could secure such a deal for AWB.

Nonsense.

No club in the PL needs to sell players unless they decide it is a good option.

Selling should be on our terms at a time when we decide. Not when some big club wants to poach our players.

I swear that half our fans have been lobotomised.

That is like saying that you shouldn't get up in the morning just in case you get run over.

Give over.
