PVA was lucky - should have gone - and he looked awful on the right as well - I hope that isn't a sign of things to come!
Schlupp is having a bad time and I am not a Benteke fan anyway regardless of Saturday.
RLC is growing in stature and needs to play every game.
Fosu-Mensa is young with mistakes in him but let him play instead of Ward in my opinion - way more athletic.
Townsend is awful - how did he ever get to play for England.
Play Jimmy Mac and let Wilf roam.
We won though - if we could get a point on Saturday we can dare to dream!

Obviously a superb result even if the performance was actually a bit poor bar the last 10mins. Why is it, bar Chelsea, we tend to win the games we play poorly in and draw the ones we play well in?

Anyway, I have a question: I had a peek at the Watford forums and, pre-match, they really seem to hate us and, particularly, Zaha. Why is that? Because we beat them in the Playoff final and the FA Cup semi-final? Sure, Zaha won a penalty in the first of these but it clearly WAS a pen and I forget the latter. I detect a team that, like Charlton, are desperate for a rival... we don’t really give a s*** about them though so they should look elsewhere.

As for this match: we got lucky with PVA’s non sending off potentially but Cleverley clearly deserved to go. Our goals were two excellent bits of play by that man they hate so much and they dominated large parts of the game so they really only have themselves to blame.

They do have a rival - they're called Luton.

Maybe, just maybe, the whole 'luck' thing is finally evening itself out. I'll happily take another 10 dire performances & sneak a win in our remaining home games this season.

As an aside, did anyone else notice Silva seek out Luka & have a chat with him all the way back to the tunnel? I'd be intrigued to know what that was about & hope there was no tapping up going on.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

Poor performance but a win which is all important.

TFM had a shocker. Just because he's quick doesn't make him good.
Schlupp almost as poor

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

Ugly win
My observations;
McArthur should be starting.
TFM is consistently poor.
Yes Shclupp had a poor game but has been solid for us previously so get off his back.
Benteke is still poor but improving very slightly. I think B Sakho could replace him at HT or soon after.
Perhaps now people are realising how sold Ward is. In the meantime I prefer Kelly at RB rather than PVA.

Out of the bottom 3 at Christmas would be a massive psychological feeling

Massive credit for Luka, while the others were celebrating the first he ran over to them and grabbed them practically dragging Sako back to our half, he was shouting ‘one more’ or words to that effect.

Agreed but I think bringing Souare back into the fray would be the best idea imo better than all three of our full backs loaning him out in jan would be a huge mistake

Yes , shame he didn't keep a clean sheet.
Goal seemed to go straight at him , Hennessey would have been expected to save that by some on here.
Still we won.

That was a very enjoyable drive home to the south coast.

A cloud of abject pessimism descended over me and I went on HOL to post about what I felt was a highly likely defeat and I am absolutely delighted to have been WRONG.

Contrast the emotions at the end of the game last night with those at the end of the Bournemouth match. And all our late goals is proof that we have the character to keep going to the end, character which is vital to us in our current plight.

Well done to Roy,Ray and all the coaches and of course the players.Salutes all round.
