more like 10 if we are lucky, at least we save on his exorbitant wages and we offset the rest of the loss against his 15 goals that from last season probably kept us up for another season and the rewards that has given the club in terms of income. But you are right lets get rid of him to the Chinese as they are the only ones likely to want him!

The obvious answer is no, unless there is a guaranteed replacement with some one who has a record of scoring goals at the highest level. And we all know that there arnt many of them around. So, I would like to know who the 2 or 3 such strikers are who we could get for a mere £15m - because I am sure Roy and all the other PL managers would like to know as well!

Selling him isn't and has never been an option. If we did we would need to buy 3 strikers, other clubs would realise this and absolutely have us over a barrel. There are very few decent strikers available to a club in our position and with our budget already. Hopefully we can get wickham fit and buy the guy from Monaco so we have competition for once.

I always felt that Benteke's next goal for us would see him as a different player and I think we saw that yesterday to a degree. He played with far more assurance and of course setup Zaha for the second goal.Let's hope he continues in the same vein.

Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Even before his goal and assist yesterday he has had a big hand in most of our goals recently. Those who dislike him are never going to love him because he doesn't run around all over the place. If Everton really want him then expect a bid of £25-30 million, as anything less would be laughed off by Parish. Personally given our lack of strikers I think we would only sell if a) we had already signed new strikers (plural), and b) we at the very least reclaim what we paid, although I think in today's market Parish may want nearer 40 million. Those saying we wouldn't get more than 15 million for an international striker, at a prime age with a better than 1 in 3 goal-scoring record in the PL are delusional.

Maybe a few on this thread need to look back at their earlier posts in the light of his match winning performance yesterday. There was a total overreaction to the penalty miss in my opinion.

If he does go to Everton probably won’t happen until the summer but providing we stay up I can see slimani being his replacement and hopefully for a cut price

Thankfully Benteke has redeemed himself and we can move on from the penalty debacle last week. If he hadn't put in such a stellar performance perhaps there would have been a question mark over his future but not any more. Was great to see him playing with a big smile on his face... hopefully now the floodgates will open and he will start scoring for fun.
