I have criticised Roy in recent weeks - the poor use of substitutions is one particular bugbear of mine. But managers are assessed on the results.

Roy should take the plaudits for bringing in Schlupp who did well - much to my surprise. That said I was at the Fulham game and he has got a mean shot. He was at his dynamic bustling best.

Top management.

How many times are we only level or behind at home,at half time, Hodgson is so negative and even gives the lesser teams far too much respect, the full backs aren't give freedom / midfielders not given freedom to get in the box, and hence most times we are chasing games,Hodgson have a look at what solskjaer did - let the players off the leash, I'm so fed up watching 'boring football'in the first 45.

Totally agree. It's like he tells them to wait 20=30 mins to see how the games going then gradually work our way into the game. It's the same every game. We play no different wether home of away. I could sort of understand it if after 20-30 mins and things weren't going great he tries a different formation, or our non existent plan B. Ladt night was a classic example. It was basically a free hit. Utd knew exactly the team we would put out and how we would play. Why not suprise them and play 442 with Benteke upside thd new guy and really go at thd first 20 mins. At least it would have given thd fans something to get excited about

Totally agree. With RH I suspect he will always be happier with a 0-0 than a 1-1 or a 2-2. The problem with playing for a 0-0 (and some recent games I have had the sneaking suspicion that this is what has been played for) is that when the opposition inevitably score first due to our passive, negative tactical approach, we have to find another gear. We should be in that gear from the off!

I think the 'free-hit' is the best way to describe last night and why it was so wrong.

Away at Leicester it made some sense. It's really hard to try and argue against a 4-1 win so I won't and say he got it right, even if we did look awful first half and I tihnk the result flattered us.

But United at home knowing the teams below dropped points? Max Meyer scored against Doncaster recently but also was probably the best player at Old Trafford earlier in the season when we got a 0-0.

Horses for courses is also an expression Roy doeesn't seem aware of. He prefers Schlupp to Kouyate at the moment in midfield, that's his opinion whether some fans agree or not is irrelevant.

What isn't irrelevant is that last night we had to mark Pogba in the midfield and Kouyate could have out-jumped him. Some times it's not just about form or best player, it's who is right for a specific job.

We don't have a plan B as someone else mentioned and that's so infuriating in these games. We shipped 3 goals anyway and it was bloody hard for a lot of people to get to the ground after work on a Wednesday night. I'd rather us have lost 3-0 with Benteke up-top with Batshuyi and Max Meyer trying to forward at all times. We weren't likely to ship more than 3 anyway and at least we could have been entertained.

Could you explain what a plan B is? Isn’t that making substitutions.

The next three games are against Burnley, Brighton and Watford.
These are three physical and direct teams who use set pieces and try and win battles all over the field.
Roy needs to amend his ‘one size fits all ‘ approach and take into account the opposition we are facing.
A case could be made for the inclusion of Dann, Kouyate and even Benteke for these games.
I don’t want a repeat of Lukaku’s second goal yesterday where we lost three challenges in succession.

Sometimes. Sometimes it's about changing tactics or formation. If a lone striker isn't working, go to 442. If he's not getting much service through the middle, push up one of your midfielders. If passing the ball around isn't working, stick benteke on and play high balls into him (don't put him on and carry on passing around thd floor). Lots of ways to change thd game, Roy plays the same way and in most cases subs are like fof like.

our goal-difference would put us just below Everton in the Prem Table.

Everton - a club that has never been relegated from the Prem.

Roy, you are a genius !

Now who was wondering if it was Roy's fault, Club fault etc... have their answer.
Just guess what if we had a real striker from Day 1.

Possibly not but he out thought Dyche today … great team selection choosing to play narrow. So much for all the pre match crap from the self styled expert fans eh!!

Roy has certainly rejuvenated Schlupp he looks twice the player he was last season
