Interest/care seems to be waning too.

I'll keep flying the flag for the people however.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

While I'm not for their regime I certainly concur that it's the Ukrainian people, whichever country they side with or don't side with who are ultimately suffering.

I'm interested in the battlefield aspects of it....which in some ways is a throwback to last century.

But there are much larger consequences outside of the conflict in terms of economics and cold war power structures.

Much as I still can't quite believe this state of conflict has happened again.

Well done NATO....Turkey's actually meant to be in it......The BRICS world system was precisely what the west doesn't need.

It is quite stunning really. Not only do the 'sanctions' actually empower Russia and harm Europe in a way that is sometimes beyond comprehension in terms of the damage being done (if Russia do not turn the gas pipes back on tomorrow then Germany is in SERIOUS trouble and when the Krauts sneeze, the rest of the Eurozone are in danger of full-on pneumonia) but now they have created this new alliance.

And again the simple dichotomy. The West is either led by people who are moronic in the extreme or are deliberately setting out to damage it to the point of destruction. There is no middle ground.

Couldn't have put it better myself.

I go with the 'morons in a group think bubble' angle but you have to wonder sometimes.

From what I read today they have different opinions on things

Iran and Russia support Syrian regime but Turkey want to do their own special military operation there

And Iran have had to cut their oil production as Russia has been undercutting them selling to India and China

Sanctions work just they weren’t introduced earlier when Russia first invaded

Germany made their own bed (getting into bed with Russia) see o they have to sleep in it. They could turn their Nuclear power stations on for instance
