"Arsenal have signed Ivory Coast winger Nicolas Pepe from Lille for a club record fee of £72m." One would have thought that a signing for that amount would take some time to conclude. Seems to me that the WZ offer was just smoke n mirrors media / agent BS. I think Arsenal tried to bully us into doing a deal on their terms. Enlisted Zaha's brother as a mouthpiece and waited for Palace to cave in. They've agreed to pay over 5 years for Pepe which was the only option that Arsenal were open to. This from a club that was reknown for having plenty of cash. And as I and others have said before - all this speculation could have been settled by Zaha himself who chooses to continue to say nothing.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle He seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth. Has he returned to training? Is he on strike?. If he stays he won't be involved against Everton. I can see us loaning him abroad somewhere if he doesn't want to be here just to get his wages off the books

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Interestingly, Man City are holding out for £120m plus for Sane. Great player but is he worth £40m more than our value of Zaha and £65m more than the best offer we have supposedly had.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Wilf is still our player, under contract, being paid by us so why is he not back training for the new season. African tournament finished weeks ago. Anyone know if he is down to play in the final friendly tomorrow?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle From the outside it looks as if Wilfs relationship with Parish once so strong has completely broken down with Parish promising him something that he has possibly reneged on. Can't wait for this to be over now.

...and whether or not we accept a bid has nothing to do with whether he leaves. Transfers are a 3 way thing, selling club, buying club and player. All three have to agree. What he can do is put the media speculation to bed by saying he either: 1) wants to leave It’s not difficult and I think the fans who have supported him through good and bad times deserve a bit more communication and honesty. The first step is the clubs agreeing a fee. Which looks unlikely. Why wouldn't he talk to Arsenal if terms were agreed? If he comes out and says he isn't leaving, then a fee is agreed and he goes to negotiate terms with them, it's a bit embarrassing really
