He is a racist. Are you OK with that? Yes, of course he is. Man who denies racism is an issue because ‘it’s just words’ reckons David Lammy is a racist. Wonder why that is.

Be interesting to know which parts were reasonable and which were not. It makes sense for people to call themselves black British, or anything whatever British. Do Asians call themselves Asian English? Do Chinese call themselves Chinese English? Do people with parents from European countries with large communities here call themselves whatever English? The answer is almost always no to them all. Lammy is being divisive for no good reason. And actually there will often be a clue as to where their father’s ancestry is from, just like Lammy’s skin colour. And while we’re on it, how many black people from the Caribbean call themselves Caribbean African or whatever it was before also adding English? I bet hardly any. They’re more likely to say Caribbean or Jamaican or Trinidadian or something. Lammy up to his usual in creating issues that aren’t issues for most people, including those he’s claiming it’s an issue for.

It’s plainly obvious what she meant. Do you consider yourself English? It's plainly obvious she questioned his englishness because of his heritage which is nothing to do with skin colour. Not once did she mention skin colour.

Yes, it’s definitely David Lammy who needs to take a look at himself after that exchange.

Words are just words in relation to insults but David Lammy is a politician who is not afraid to make racist statements against White people. Ironically, he also sees White racism everywhere. He is an opportunist politician who uses race to further his career plain and simple. A little different I would say.

If you want to try and convince yourself of that that’s your prerogative but you only need to take a read of all the comments to see you are wildly in the minority. What about her use of the word ‘pollute’ when it came to ethnicity? Fine with that? David Lammy also said he’s proud to English but was told he wasn’t English. Surely him being proud to be English is a good thing?

Another so quick to acknowledge any perceived slight on white people yet dismissive of it on others. If you’ve got a problem with some of the things David Lammy has said just wait until you find out some of things the person in charge of this country has said. Edited by DanH (29 Mar 2021 10.09pm)

Surely him being proud to be English is a good thing? If he was living in Japan, would he be Japanese? Or Chinese in China? You sound bloody stupid Dan. The reason why America is different is because it’s a new country and everyone arrived fairly closely together, and even they prefix American with their country or continent of origin.

Edited by DanH (29 Mar 2021 10.09pm) So you think that using particular words that some people have now decided are offensive is the same as promoting racist policy? I don't think that compares.
