When did he say that, I don't recall? Also, what Parish says to the press is often smoke and mirrors. He's more canny than most give him credit for.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Well if can't promise transfer budgets to any incoming Manager to strengthen the team, what incentive do they have to come and damage their image, we need at least four or five quality players, otherwise we are as we were, which was not very good to say the least, not my wish but these are the facts, we have no manager, no pre-season planning, no activity in the transfer market (that would be madness without a manager), so please give me hope? Its not my job to give you hope Den. If you want to believe the spin and can't see that Zaha wouldn't have signed a new Contract without some indication of our ambition next year, then you are beyond any help that I could give you.

If a new manager wanted to go for the Sakho plus one deal I'm sure SP would try to make it happen, provided he was as convinced by the new man's reasoning as he was Sam's.

Edited by Brentmiester_General (18 Jun 2017 4.24pm) This. I also remember listening to Parish on Radio 5 Live when he said that we made a mistake last year by not spending enough money and that he was going to learn from it. Then I heard him say pretty much the opposite a few weeks later. I have no idea what is going on, but the one thing that I know is that whatever Parish says to the press there is an angle.

It was in the interview with the US radio station, which was well documented on here; sorry you missed it. I personally wouldn't accuse Parish of being deceitful, but it's your prerogative to do so if you wish. Parish isn't deceitful. He is being canny. There is a difference.

Except that Allardyce made a statement in which he made his reasons clear; if you think there's anything else to it then you are calling him a liar, and if you are calling him a liar then you need evidence.

Whilst we may not break our transfer record this season. Parish is hardly gonna come out and say it's the biggest budget. I think parish would consider himself a negotiator and while waiting for Benteke last season was frustrating. Seeing 2 games pass without him signing. It's like a game of chess. Early in the window Liverpool can demand higher fee. The closer the window closes, then they may accept a little lower. If Sakho does sign for us it would be until late August.

It is well known that Allardyce had a six month break clause in his contract which he exercised . Along with the compensation clause that any future employer will be liable for a reputed sum of £2m if they choose employ him within 2 years of his leaving Palace.

Holloway said lots of things that were complete bollocks but ultimately he won us the playoffs and was gracious enough to stand down when it became apparent that he was well out of his depth, I don't think that can be argued as a negative appointment.
