I'd be surprised if this is really the case. We have a massive issue in this country wherein we still hink of the working class as a load of bald white guys. But they reckon within about 10 years it will actually be majority non-white. Now obviously lots of people don't like that and are voting UKIP, but that's because they're racist. And I'm not saying that in an inflammatory way, I'm just stating it as a fact: if you don't like this country because it's becoming browner, then you are, by definition, a racist. Now do UKIP or the Tories care about that sizeable demographic of the working class? Like f*ck they do. I would still estimate that that group is still majoritally Labour. Just a guess. It's funny, because Labour will probably win in Stoke, and in Leigh, and then there'll have to be another argument made about why Corbyn should resign. UKIP are so incompetent, and Nuttall is such a bellend, that even Corbyn can beat them. I gotta say that brings a chuckle to my lips With all due respect. That is simplistic nonsense. Skin colour has virtually nothing to do with it.

All Jezza needs to do now is to gurn his face as he eats a bacon sandwich, whilst tripping over and getting soaked on a beach when the tide is coming in, and then call a fat northern lifetime supporter of labour woman a bigot not realising he's miked up and we can all hear it! .... and Momentum etc will still vote for him as leader!

Champagne Shami is getting a kicking on Marr. She said that the Copeland defeat was the consitituenct 'rejecting the establishment'. They voted in a Tory MP! This is how to integrate with Labours core, 'working class' support: Cat Smith explains how finishing second was an 'incredible achievement' for Labour: Even Guardian columnists are asking him to go: However, I reject this talk. Be stoic, Jezza. Finish the job. Don't let others distract you. You know what is best and you are doing wonderful things at the moment for the future of this country by simply turning up for work. Thank you. Edited by matt_himself (26 Feb 2017 10.11am)

Jezza will not be resigning any time soon, and neither will there be another leadership challenge according to his deputy Tom Watson... Great news for the country.... I am doing cartwheels despite my Parky and arthritic knee joints!

Tories under Maggie, for all their faults, made you believe you could do or be anything you wanted. Not something the hard left seem to get.

I think the working class are much better off than they used to be in previous generations, ironically, largely due to the efforts of trade unions and the labour movement. However, they are now more concerned with paying their mortgage, keeping a job and maintaining their relatively good standard of living for their families. They are not too worried about looking after refugees, or having mass immigration that adversely affects their wages, job security and changes their home towns, or Palestine, or LGBT rights, or most of the other priorities of the Labour Party. They see the Conservatives under Theresa May as a better option to protect their interests.
