Common sense. No place for you in our political parties I'm afraid. I wouldn't be surprised if being a hemp abusing vegan hadn't become an official requirement to enter parliament by the time I come to pick up my nonexistent pension. Edited by Stirlingsays (10 Nov 2022 5.46pm) You have a point. A friend is the Tory Leader of a major London borough he told me a few years back he wanted to be an MP but under Cameron as he was white and male so he had no chance. And that's why the Tories are as bad as Labour, never mind the quality tick the box.

Yep, another victim of filtering which we get told didn't exist when it was presented as 'positive discrimination' at the actual time.

Another example of who holds the actual power...which are progressive.... and how disfigured it all is. An actual obese man winning a female beauty contest. While it's absolutely crazy you can't help but watch those girls clapping like seals and think....hey, this is the world you support, cool. If only conservatives could maintain an area that's actually conservative and keep these freaks out....and I'm mainly talking about those who support it. [Tweet Link]

Even back in the 1970s they started to go woke after the Albert Hall flour fest. So now you have to have a talent and do charity work what on earth that has to do with who is the prettiest girl. Either have the contest and argue about who is the prettiest or don't bother. As for this one, words fail me.

Completely agree, there's nothing wrong with just judging on the physical aesthetic of the female form. No one gave a feck how bright Marilyn Monroe was or how interested in charity work she was.

But we can't afford it. Yes we can, but more importantly we must, because what we cannot afford is to bequeath a future which leads to the death of billions. We just don't want to afford it, but we can, and the changes needed are really not so onerous. To speak only of costs is, I think, a misunderstanding. What we need to do is put more resources into ensuring those processes causing the problems are replaced with others that don't. That means a redeployment of people and industries, who will still earn money and make profits. Our real costs will come with the need to assist others to do the same, which will enable their people to remain and thrive where they are and not be driven to relocate. That in turn will mean they become more effective competitors, which will have its own impacts. We don't though have a choice. Being unhappy about it doesn't change that.

I have to say it feels like a real bending of the rules to have such a portly gentleman win a female beauty contest after my ‘no fat chicks’ campaign.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

So when those who can afford it are poorer what about their kin going forwards. Doesn’t that matter? Please don’t come back with the earth this and that if we don’t do anything as that is pure guesswork from all the people benefitting financially. So long as you continue to think it's only "guesswork" there is little point in trying to discuss this with you. Anyone who thinks that will conclude that the effort isn't necessary. If and when you change your mind, then we can try again.

The UK public are very generous to overseas charities e.g. Boxing day Tsunami we raised more money than any other country I am not talking about taxpayer funds. I don't see why my taxpayers money should be spent outside of the UK. Those that can and want to can donate via charity the rest of us can choose how we spend our own money. Edited by Badger11 (10 Nov 2022 12.00pm) Yes we donate very generously, but this problem transcends anything that all the charities in the world could do. We need certainty and commitment and that must come from governments. Governments who realise the scale of the issue, the need for international cooperation and are prepared to lead us to do what is required, even if that makes them very unpopular.
