Trump supporters have been attacking Police throughout the day, there has been various other moments of rioting since the election - just as other groups have done in the last four years for a number of reasons. This stuff was largely tolerated as part of these Trump supporters grieving process. This is clearly an escalation an attempt to stop a peaceful transition of power which as I said hasn't happened in the last four years.

Trump has clearly sets the bar very high though in that regard, and to see people contorted into mini versions of him sans any semblance of power or influence is not a pleasant sight. Though of course Trump himself is fast finding himself swirling around the plughole, and beyond the nutters and domestic terrorists in the making we see today, is fast hemorrhaging the marriage of convenience support. At least democrats and republicans alike as parties do still have some principled supporters. Trump as an individual at this point has just been left with the dregs.

If the poooooolice can"t handle these law breakers, couldn"t they ask those Antifa chaps to demonstrate tonight outside the building, get one of their demos over,saving police time and effort, and clear the criminals at the same time!

Your second paragraph does however make a significant point. It's that after years of watching the Police soft ball Antifa/blm and operate against those who actually supported the Police, right wing groups have had enough. After their leader was arrested yesterday they have decided to stop supporting the Police and to start treating them as Antifa treat them. In terms of the Police that's what you are seeing.
