Nice one mate, sorry for repeating myself, im just curious if a door knocker likes to put over a fair and just argument when he wakes up an old dear having her afternoon nap or just about to start her dinner, nothing against willo personally, but dont like political door bangers of any party!

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I have to say I have never had anyone knock on the door asking who I will vote for. I did get a call last week from the Lib Dems asking but it was literally 3 questions

Do you listen to their weekly podcasts? If not, thoroughly recommend them.

What like the 'Guardian' ?

And I am only reporting what I have heard and read and I don't read any old 'Rag'.

The budgets have been protected and budget increased for 1,500 armed Police. At the end of the day it is NOT just about numbers but Police powers as well and how they operate. And I stay by what I posted earlier regards Corbyn and Abbott.

Regards Corbyn and the Police, some years ago when he was a senior Labour councillor in Haringey, the local party put up a poster in its office depicting Policeman as pigs wearing helmets. Later the 'Socialist Campaign for a Labour victory" of which Corbyn was a founder publised a manifesto "The capitalist Police are an enemy of the working class". I'm afraid these abhorrent views have shaped much of Corbyn's political career.

Finally, I said I would NO longer post on this thread - just HAD to respond to all the hogwash. I shall now NOT view any more on this thread so won't feel the need to respond and consequently will NOT do so.

Reality Check:

"Spending on policing had been rising steadily for at least 15 years until austerity cuts began to kick in from 2010. It rose particularly rapidly in the 10 years to this date, going up by more than 30%.
Following the 2008 crash and the swathe of cuts to public spending that followed, the part of police forces' budgets that are paid for by central government shrunk by 22% on average."

There are c.19,000 fewer officers (13%) than when the government came in in 2010 and 700 fewer firearms officers (6%).

They may have new tactics but you can't have officers in two places at once or do more work with less resource.

Yes, both Politics weekly and Football weekly! Very enjoyable.

Think it could be a case of funding has moved into Cyber departments like the GCHQ rather than people on the ground?

If May wins (Which I think she will), I hope she sees the middle ground and increases the funding for Emergency Services, NHS and Education (Especially after what has happened in the last three months). Hopefully she will use this election campaign as a way to be more central rather than too right.

Had the Lib Dems knock 3 weeks ago. I live in Carshalton, and Tom Brake has been awful for the last 2 years with his Rubbish bins, voting against article 50 (In a Brexit dominated constituency), as well as other local issues.

They knocked, with my rubbish bags everywhere outside (My bins were full, and foxes got to all our neighbours rubbish) and asked if I would re-elect Tom Brake. He has no chance I am afraid.
