Last minute shenanigans ....?

from the beeb

According to French website L'Equipe, Said Benrahma's loan move from West Ham to Lyon has collapsed.

They say everything had been agreed but West Ham forgot to enter information in Fifa's transfer software.

I’m delighted with the signings of Muñoz and Wharton but am amazed we haven’t filled a single one of our loan places in either transfer window. We really needed cover on the left wing and a punt on another centre forward.

I'd wait for the late arrivals of the following first:

"Winger - Maxwell Cornet £5m
Striker - Chuba Akpom - loan
"

I'm not sure whether he's just taking the p!ss for the fun of it or whether there's something very wrong there.

In any instance, I guess we're 'all in' on Eze and Olise staying fit.

Agree with this wholeheartedly. We will be proven to be short on the wings in the next half season and I literally cannot fathom why we haven’t addressed that ahead of time in either this window or the last window. The fact that we were linked with wingers late on suggests those at the club know we are short on wingers - so to fail both times to bolster our supply of wingers has to be seen as baffling. I’m sure Munoz and Wharton will prove to be good players, so not complaining about them.

Now that we’re left with just free agents available… Bolasie is a free agent again - he actually looked like he could do a job as a back up winger when I saw him playing for Swansea… but it’s baffling that we’re left having to hope for a rabbit to be pulled out of the hat after the end of a MONTH LONG transfer window.

Sorry Dougie, your cover is blown. You should've given less of a clue with your name.

Ahhh yes, this one you mean…“there will be at least 1 if not 2 more in comings”

Another transfer window - another load of absolute b*llox and misleading fabrication.

Pleased we have addressed the right back role (eventually) and good to see another young talent join.
However, not sure how much of a role Wharton will have play this season and still suspect we are going to be relying on Schlupp at left wing times this season.
Needed a wide left forward.
Injuries to our Olise and Eze and we could still be in trouble.
Yet again issues where the can has been kicked down the road.
Getting another attacking option of loan should have been a priority as well.

I know its Palace, but after spuffing most of our summer budget on Franca, I'd hope that DF, SP and RH would have talked long and hard about the impact Wharton can make now.

Although Richards has done a job, we've been in steady decline since the loss of Docoure. My hope is that if we sort that middle area, the whole team will be a bit more coherent.

We’ve spent in the region of £50 million on young talent in Wharton, Ahamada and Franca.
I doubt Hodgson will play them much so it may be case of waiting for a new manager for them to get an extended run and demonstrate what they are capable of.
Teenagers Miley, Hinshelwood and Mainoo continue to impress at other clubs.
If you’re good enough , you’re old enough.

About 6 months to settle, which will take him to March/April from his injury. Let us see how Franca sees out our season before we decide if the cash has been "spuffed".

For me, he is too easily rounded in what I would laughingly describe as his defensive abilities. I hope they are working on that... and hard.

Totally agree.

Hodgson clearly doesn't think that Franca is good enough yet.
