Quite right. We should have insisted on a much higher release clause so that he wouldn't have signed and gone to another club instead Bang on the money.

If Olise is indeed on his way out then I don't see Rak-Sakyi going anywhere unless we get a replacement for Olise.

Chelsea are exploiting more grey areas than Rooney to get all these deals through. Olise will no doubt sign a thirty-year contract and Chelsea will somehow avoid any serious FFP issues despite having a net deficit of over £600 million across last season and this one.

If this proves to be true then it is an absolutely monumental clusterf*** from the club. Not only because that release clause is half of what it should be (and I don't believe for a minute that we can't get these players without release clauses, Brighton seem to be able to). But also because if we knew it was there this entire time and haven't acted to source a replacement early knowing that he was probably off, it's ridiculous. Ayew has improved and Schlupp is fine but let's be honest, going from Zaha / Olise to Ayew / Schlupp is like shagging Jessica Alba one night and Pat Butcher the next. I'm still hoping it's somehow untrue but this is shocking news for the club otherwise.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

Well tbf, he did have a good game in the U21's according to the match thread(i didnt have access, but, now resolved), Roy has stated he doesn't want JRS to go out on loan, yet, so would make sense. Don't know about anyone else, but i'd be very happy for this 'saga' to be concluded quickly, so the club can move on.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Presumably if release clauses become the norm ( more than they are already) then sites like transfermarkt will start to record them on the site as relevant data.

Well thats answered that that question then .It was yes all along With an increasing number of clubs seemingly having a bottomless pit of funds we have unfortunately become a stepping stone for any young player looking for a season or two in the shop window of the premier league . If we dont sign these players someone else will and we lose one of the few incomes we can self generate . We will not keep potential world class players like Olise, Eze or even Franca if the hype is to be believed . We will forever be a team of Ayews , Ward and Schulpp's (no dissrespect intended) with a sprinkling of young talent that we can enjoy for a couple of seasons . Eventually the young talent tree wont bear fruit and we will be forced to buy players on their way down rather than on their way up if we are to survive . Its why the academy is as important to our future as is finding tommorows superstars at Reading and QPR .
