My honest opinion is that whilst of course I recognise the contribution he made to our club last season, I really do believe that Gallagher falls below the standard required by England and I have never believed that he would be selected for the World Cup.

I accept others will disagree but such variances of opinion are all part of the 'Rich tapestry' of HOL.

Currently, you're probably right. May have found his level with us - or just suited our system much better. Watching England recently has been like watching a Roy team - not Gallagher's style. He's in your face, going forward, not holding and passing sideways until there is an overlap.

Isn’t this exactly why he became such a fans favourite.
Football is such a harsh environment. The guy who in Conor’s eyes was god (Tommy Tuchel) who persuaded him to return to Chelsea where he hardly got played is now unemployed. Who knows what would have happened if he had joined us, but I fancy both for him and us things would have been better.
It could still happen although a lot of the shine has gone.

We will probably start to get an idea of what is in Graham Potters head (team shape & players) when we meet CFC on the 1st -

He will probably loan him to Brighton.

Certainly a possibility -
Indeed given that Potter as Brighton Manager would have been exposed to the rivalry between the weed & ourselves I guess he wont be in any rush to do us any favours.

J think we can lovingly kiss goodbye to Conor with Harry Potter's arrival at CFC. He'll prove himself and may thrive in a new and different set up and, if loans come around at all, HP might not appreciate him going to the SE25 Old Enemy again...

I can't believe Graham Potter would be influenced one jot by consideration of an artificially confected "rivalry". He will do what's best for him and Chelsea - and rightly so.

be that as it may - if there is a choice of loaning a player like CG to either Palace or Brighton and he has the opportunity of doing Brighton a solid by doing so then the player isn't coming to us -

On a positive ( for Palace ) note, if we are still interested in CG come January, I think his valuation is likely to be well below the silly money talked about last season.

You feel it will have to take something quite unexpected and spectacular for CG's Chelsea career to take off between now and January NEILLO, I've been pondering similar thoughts!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Potter's a smart, english manager who I believe will value good, honest, hardworking players. I can see Gallagher being a Potter favourite - I'd say he'll be a regular in the side soon.
