I am with you on the stumping point but not the straying from the crease as the bowler goes through his actions in anticipation of a run, because in that example the batsman is looking to gain an advantage, if you remove that from the rules there would be almost nothing to stop a batsman wandering half the length of the track as the ball was bowled.

I say almost nothing because of course there is always the possibility that the ball gets hit back to the bowler & he deflects it on to the stumps with the errant batter out of his ground.

I have not taken offence.

I am trying to stick to the point, which is that once a batsman has been in, he should not be able to be stumped until the next ball is bowled. I see nothing confusing about that.

On the separate issue of a bowler knocking off the bails because the batsman has strayed from his crease in anticipation of a run, then what ever you call it, that is also something that the game does not need.

Change the rules for both. Sorted.

Agree, the Mankading if perfectly valid in my opinion. When the ball is live the batter(s) should both be in their crease. if not, then they are at risk of a stumping. If the non-striker is trying to steal a few yards, then he is taking a risk and should be punished as such. It's only unsporting behaviour because the batting team said so. Screams of sour grapes.
Not wanting to degrade the game, but Baseball has a similar rule - which they accept and works to increase the excitement of the sport.

Perhaps the rule should be that you can't leave your crease until the ball is bowled. In any case, cricket should not be decided by technicalities.

Well done Stuart Broad. He's really got it over Warner.
Should be a lot of runs scored here with the pace of the outfield.

That'll do it. He's bowling a pretty good length as well. And getting it to move.

Another 2 dropped catches by Bairstow plus extras.

Could be the difference here.

And now Root has put one down. Commentary said we've dropped 13 catches so far.
