Self righteous bollox as usual, no surprise here Originally posted by Wisbech Eagle
I don't think the electorate "allowed" anything to happen. They had no say in the matter. It just happened. It's not just me that thinks that either. Our own security forces do. I have the greatest respect for genuine democratic outcomes! However, the Brexit referendum was not one. In our representative democracy, such a huge decision ought to have never been exposed to the winds of chance inherent in a referendum. Especially when called by Cameron, and Central Office, in the political interests of the Tory Party and not the country. No referendum in the UK should ever be regarded as binding, but only advisory, because we delegate decisions to our representatives. Those representatives, as a collective body, were firmly of the view that we should remain a member. It was a shameful period in our long history, which future generations will come to view as the nemeses of the UK. We will not recover in my lifetime
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

1. Don't be a copycat. 2. If a democratic process doesn't support your desired outcome you cry foul. 3.You can't use semantics to attempt to deny your sneering at the " used " voters.Well you can attempt, but doesn't work in my opinion. 4. Analysis?? It's your opinion, there are no analytics there. At least you are consistent in your hubris. And you can't spell nemesis Originally posted by Wisbech Eagle

It has a great deal more involved than just money. It's about priorities and values. I won't try to explain what I am quite sure you already know but if you genuinely want to educate yourself, rather than recite your prejudices, take a look here:- Im not prejudice but if its not all about money why are all celebrities who try to push hmg into a corner about 'poor' peoples needs always after money and more of it. Look at the enhanced universal credit which is being cut back soon.

That's how it works in our democracy and has nothing to do with any desired outcome of mine. 3) More BS. It's again the truth. 4) Hatrick! It's my analysis. I gave reasoning, not just an opinion. Nemeses is the plural form of nemisis. It was spelt correctly.

Look at the enhanced universal credit which is being cut back soon. There are millions more ordinary people who think as I do, who aren't celebrities! Why those people believe in fairness, inclusiveness and equality of opportunity has nothing at all to do with money. What you mention are but a small part of the picture, and much more symptoms than cures. Money won't achieve the desired result. Only changed attitudes can do that

Perhaps you "don't do sarcasm". Are you American or surrounded by them in HK? That might explain it.

Shameful yes that millions refused to accept a democratic vote backed up by 2 general elections, shameful that some MPs after the referendum stood on a public platform that supported Brexit and then tried to sabotage it and I don't mean Ken Clarke who was honest about his intentions.

I am not the least concerned about whether I lost, and as many of my friends disagree with me as agree, being the age group they are, I don't concern myself about them either. My concern is that the country lost, in so many ways. Claiming it was a "democratic" vote is the consistent mistake of most Brexiteers. It wasn't because referendums are not part of our system. The only thing that gave it legitimacy was when Parliament voted to accept it. Which, in my opinion, they ought never to have done, but is nevertheless their right.
