I agree we just weren't good enough tonight.

Could not string passes together for long periods and we were pushed deep on to the back foot by a team whose movement caused us problems.
They moved the ball well,found pockets of space and showed their quality.
The substitutions did not work at all and I suspect Southgate will face criticism from various sources.

You can't blame Southgate for missing penalties , these players are paid lot's of money to score from the spot .
What I am disappointed about is , the way our player once they got there medals they took them off straight away . These player although are disappointed have achieved more than our England team have in the last 50 odd years and should be proud of what they have got and done .

But you can blame him for subbing on two of our penalty takers in the 120th minute who then both went on to not have a touch of the ball before being expected to win a European championship.
You can also blame him for the suicidal sit back & defend tactics of the 2nd half.
Honestly that 2nd half is the most Palace/Hodgson thing I've seen since wel... Palace & Hodgson it was always doomed to failure.

There's a discussion Italy should have had two reds, potential penalty and their goal shouldn't have stood as the ref was a bottle job who didn't want to make a big call in a major final.

Ultimately you have to play the whistle and they probably would have scored at some point.

Their strikers have around 60 goals between them and pressed really well. Their centre backs were colossal. You could describe them as whiley seasoned pro's (often referred to as c***s by opposition fans). They reminded me of Delaney and Rambo in When Eagles Dare.

Kane doesn't work hard enough in defense, I don't really see what Mount adds. Rashford f***ed up that penalty.

In the last two tournaments their are things that Southgate could have done better. But a Semi and a Final have restored national pride. In the majority of tournaments since '66 England have been a s*** show. There are faults, but there will always be some faults - in the last two completions we've exceeded expectations.
