I was desperate for us to sign Bowen and now he's tearing it up for West Ham. If I have to watch Benrahma do the same I'll tear my ever decreasing hair out. I'd be miffed in he ends up with the spammers. Apparently they signed Bowen for £18 million + 7 in add-ons, I believe we can reasonably negotiate a similar fee with Brentford?

Maybe the player doesn’t fancy joining us.

I wonder whether our interest cooled once it became apparent that Wilf would be staying.

It does seem that Palace did have a serious interest in Benrahma, even discussing personal terms, etc. But as you say, maybe it was a contingency in case Wilfried left. What concerns me is that although Palace have strengthened, so have every other team in the PL. And we haven't substantially lowered the age of the squad. Very disappointing

I didn't think we would spend any money after the eze deal I honestly don't think we have over 20 million to spend on one player

I think this article sums it up pretty well in terms of why he hasn't moved and that also personal terms are one of the few factors putting teams off: The Independent has also been told that the 25-year-old’s expected salary has been considered prohibitive by some.....But the reasoning is not quite as blunt as balance sheets alone. In a precarious and increasingly volatile transfer market, Benrahma is no longer viewed as an expensive risk, but an extravagance.
