There’s an interview in today’s Evening Standard with Parish where he says he is not looking to sell his stake in the club, but he is looking for additional outside investment. I don't think that's the problem as it's more likely to be his shareholding that's the issue as billionaires won't want to inject hundreds of millions into a football club (or indeed any company) unless they had 100% ownership

The 54-year-old embarked on a three-year plan in the summer, one which holds the £20million development of their academy site at its heart, as well as the £100m redevelopment of Selhurst Park. In order to fund such commitments, Parish is open about the potential for external investment, though any deal is unlikely to see him sell his 18 per cent share. He says: “We are looking at ways where we can get some more external funding to help us in those areas.”

He says nothing that we don't already know, poor journalism really.

But it was this that’s the probable obstacle, whether people agree with Parish or not, In order to fund such commitments, Parish is open about the potential for external investment, though any deal is unlikely to see him sell his 18 per cent share.

Give it a few days, and a different reporter's byline, and we should get a pretty clear view from Parish's side about what's going on. They must have asked and why shouldn't he leak it? I'm going to guess that the yanks are being bought out but Parish will take further dilution in return for a bigger spending commitment.

I reckon the Standard spoke to him to try to find out. And I think he'll have steered them as a person familiar. But a respectable amount of time needs to pass between the on-record interview and the 'steer'. You need to ask yourself: Did they ask? Almost certainly Did he blab? Very good chance

The club has been approached by a number of parties in the last 6 months, it's like everything else though, it has to be right for the club and the people wanting to get out. These things never happen straight away but those approaching the club have serious money; whether they will inject some of that in the club is where SP is doing right by us all by ensuring his due diligence (as far as promised investment is concerned) is a sound as can be before agreements are then entered into.
